Fireworks are exciting for us, but can be scary for our furry friends. If you have a pet who isn’t a fan , here are some tips to keep your pets safe and happy as we ring in the New Year:

✨ Keep pets indoors during fireworks
✨ Create a quiet, cozy safe spot
✨ Close windows & curtains to block noise & lights
✨ Play calming music or white noise
✨ Ensure collars & ID tags are secure
✨ Never leave pets outside unattended
✨ Ask your vet about calming aids if needed

❄️ Cold Weather Pet Safety (°C) ❄️

As temperatures drop, it’s important to know when it’s too cold for pets:

🌡 0°C to 5°C
• Small, short-haired, senior & puppy pets may need a coat
• Watch for shivering or lifting paws

🌡 0°C to -10°C
• Limit outdoor time
• Most dogs benefit from jackets & paw protection
• Check paws for ice and salt after walks

🌡 Below -10°C
• Too cold for extended outdoor exposure
• Short potty breaks only
• Never leave pets outside unattended

🐾 Cold Weather Reminders:
• Wipe paws after walks (salt & de-icer burn!)
• Keep pets dry — wet fur = faster heat loss
• Provide warm, draft-free sleeping areas
• Outdoor cats need heated shelters
