As part of our Meet the Neighbours series, we’re getting to know the people behind your neighbourhood pet stores and the communities they’re proud to be a part of. A pet store should feel like it belongs in the neighbourhood. 🐾🏡

That’s why we love supporting Canadian-made products, stocking local favourites, and creating stores that feel welcoming to the pets and people who walk through our doors. 🇨🇦🤎

This week looks like it’s going to be a hot one!

Here’s a few tips to help keep your pets safe.

Limit your pets outside time and only walk in the early mornings or late evenings. The pavement can burn their pads and it is easy for them to get heat stroke.

Have fresh water available inside and outside.

Take advantage of cooling mats, vests and bandanas. These items can help cool your pets core temperatures and help avoid heat stroke.

Hydrate meals with extra bone broth, goats milk or water.

Give high moisture snacks like watermelon and cucumber.

Do not allow your pets to run excessively or play too hard as to overheat. Even lake/pool time should be limited.

We still have a great stock of cooling products available in store so come check us out - but remember to leave you’re furry one at home.

Stay safe and have a great week.
