After a long hiatus, things are getting going again, but in a different direction... while we intend to do some minor breeding and showing, our focus has changed from producing show winning stock to working closely with a meat breeder to rehome small breeds she has acquired as terminal culls. She performs an initial temperament test, and those who pass are turned over to me to further evaluate, quarantine and then rehome to suitable homes. Currently our herd of personal rabbits includes a tri Holland lop doe and a Vienna lionhead doe (relating back to my original lines). Our rescue herd includes 2 Holland bucks from the food trade, a Holland buck we hoped to keep but who isn't happy in our herd, a lionhead doe from the food trade, an Angora rescued from starvation in October who is still in recovery, and 7 kits also from the food trade. Please keep an eye on our page for a more formal update!!

With Easter fast approaching, a Kardashian getting an Angora and Wally being ever popular, I thought it might be a good time to show you the results of neglecting an angora' s coat. Anarchy came to me covered in about 3" of solid mats. It took a month of patient grooming to remove all the mats, and turn her back into an Angora again. Because the mats were pulling on her skin, causing her pain, she was miserable and sulky, and anorexic. With regular grooming, Ana has learned to sit to be groomed, and is curious, friendly, and very playful. Once her coat was properly groomed, her entire attitude towards life, people and food changed. Now that she is groomed properly, I groom Her once or twice a week to maintain her coat.

I am not an Angora breeder, nor would I become one, as I don't want that commitment to grooming, and in fact Ana will be moving to a new home soon, where she will be a beloved pet, representing her breed... but even now she is a representation not only of what will happen to the rabbit physically if you neglect grooming, but also mentally.

Don't get a wool breed if you don't want to groom!!

It is with great sadness I announce that bad habit rabbits is closing its doors. Now is not the time in my life for me to be breeding rabbits. As such, all but a select few will be looking for new homes as breeding or pet rabbits while I complete the next year of my education. I will be keeping a couple of my girls as pets(Alaska and Daisy), and will be sharing ownership of my wonderful NFB Ghost and Nimean Lions' Whisp with Ghost's breeder, Northern Fuzzy Buns. I am trying to find someone to take Gypsy, however have not had much luck. Three of the mini Rex will be returning to their owners, but the remainder of my stock is looking for pet or breeding homes. Thank you all for so many years of support and love. I will be coming back, don't worry!

Long day at the brooklin rabbit show, but what a good time! Took shotgun(my chocolate tri mini Rex), gypsy(my tort mini Rex), whisp and ghost(both rew lions). Shotgun was dq'd both shows for being overweight, and gypsy was too young to be in the running for best of Breed mini Rex in either show(but she got some nice comments!). BUT!!! Ghost was best of variety in show b, and Whisp was best of breed in show a!!!! First best of breed win ever for one of my rabbits!!!
