Meet Molly the miracle cat! 🐈

Molly is lovingly owned by one of our past staff members! She is the cutest girl with the sweetest little face! She presented to our clinic a few weeks ago on an emergency basis.

Our team acted fast to determine the cause for her illness. It was determined through ultrasound that she had a stone in her bile duct that was obstructing it which meant she needed surgery!

One of our talented surgeons was able to successfully remove the stone from her bile duct! 🤩

She has been on a slow and steady road to recovery but she continues to eat and gain strength each day at home with her family.❤️‍🩹

🩸 Be a Hero. Donate Blood. Save Lives. 🐾❤️

Did you know your pet could help save the life of another dog or cat in need?

Our Blood Donor Program is looking for healthy canine and feline donors to join our on-call donor list. Blood donations are only requested when an emergency patient needs them, and every donation has the potential to save lives.

🐶 Dog donor requirements:
• 1–8 years old
• 50 lbs or more (lean body weight)
• Healthy and up to date on vaccinations
• Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
• Spayed or neutered
• No history of blood transfusions
• No known diseases or current medications (except preventatives)
• Annual wellness exams with our veterinarians
• Owner willing to be on call

🐱 Cat donor requirements:
• 1–8 years old
• 10 lbs or more
• Healthy and up to date on vaccinations
• No history of blood transfusions
• Indoor cats preferred and suitable for handling

What happens during a donation?
Before every donation, your pet will receive a health assessment to ensure they are a suitable donor. They will receive light sedation for the procedure and are closely monitored afterwards before heading home.

Donor benefits include:
🧡Complimentary yearly bloodwork (including blood typing for dogs)
🧡A free "Blood Donor" bandana after donating
🧡A feature on our social media to celebrate their lifesaving contribution
🧡The opportunity to make a real difference for pets in need

One donation can help save multiple lives.
If you think your pet may be a great candidate or you'd like more information, please contact our team.

Together, we can ensure lifesaving blood is available when it's needed most. 🩸🐾

☀️ Help Your Pet Beat the Heat! 🐾

As temperatures rise, it's important to help our furry friends stay cool and safe. Fresh water, shade, and avoiding the hottest parts of the day can go a long way in preventing heatstroke.

Keep an eye out for warning signs like:
🐶 Excessive panting
💧 Drooling
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea
😴 Weakness or collapse

If you think your pet may be suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer cool water, and contact your veterinarian immediately.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy summer safely! 🧡

🐝 Bee Stings & Your Pets: What Every Pet Parent Should Know 🐶🐱

Warmer weather means more outdoor adventures — and more encounters with bees. Most bee stings are mild, but some can become serious very quickly.

Common signs of a bee sting in pets:
• Sudden yelping or pawing at the face
• Swelling around the mouth, face, or paw
• Redness or hives
• Limping
• Excessive licking at the sting site

⚠️ Seek emergency veterinary care immediately if you notice:
• Difficulty breathing
• Severe facial swelling
• Vomiting or collapse
• Weakness or pale gums
• Multiple stings

What to do if your pet is stung:
✔️ Stay calm and keep your pet quiet
✔️ Apply a cool compress to help reduce swelling
✔️ Call your veterinarian for advice before giving any medications

Prevention tip: Keep pets away from flowering bushes, garbage bins, and areas where bees or wasps gather.

If you’re concerned your pet may be having an allergic reaction, contact your veterinary team right away. Early treatment can make all the difference. 💛
