It is getting to be that time soon. .
If you see a swarm of honeybees, please reach out to us by messenger (there may be some honey in it for you!). Bee swarms often don't make through the year on their own. We can come and rescue a swarm and give it a home and any treatments they may need. It will also keep them out of your walls, trees and attics.

Swarms are usually pretty docile and hang out in trees, on posts, and other weird places.

Bees booming is a great site to see in many of our hives . Our colonies are growing stronger by the day now... and eating A LOT... Although we make sure the hives have about 80-100 pounds of honey for the winter, most hives are getting light and we have suplemented with Hive Alive Fondant for the second time this spring. Bring on the dandelions..

Even though it is snowing cats and dogs, it would appear to be beekeeping season again.

We are bottling some fall and Spiced raw honey on a winter's day (in between all things hockey)...

It is all done one small batch at a time.. by hand with love, often with slightly skewed labels.

Beekeeping is winding down for the year. Today, we did an acid v***r treatment, which is the last set of mite treatments for the year. Mite mitigation is the first and last thing we do for the year. Pretty much everything you hear about bees dying off is due to varroa mites.
Hive survival is pretty much the goal of keeping bees today.
