💧 Water Changes — Even When the Water’s Low! 💧

We know summer heat (and the occasional water restrictions) can make it tricky to keep up with your aquarium maintenance — but even in low-water times, regular water changes are still one of the most important things you can do for your fish and reptiles! 🐟🐢

Even with filters running, waste and toxins can still build up over time. A small but consistent water change helps:
✅ Keep water clear and healthy
✅ Reduce harmful ammonia & nitrate levels
✅ Keep your fish and plants thriving
✅ Avoid sudden health problems

Tips for water changes during low-water periods:
🌿 Do smaller, more frequent changes (5–10% weekly instead of 25%)
♻️ Use removed tank water to water your garden or houseplants
🧴 Top up with conditioned water only — don’t skip the dechlorinator!
📏 Check your water parameters to make sure your fish’s home stays stable

A healthy tank means happy pets — and even a little fresh water goes a long way!

🚨 A Notice to Customers– Duckweed Alert! 🚨

We’d like to give everyone a quick heads-up: Duckweed has been spotted in a few of our tanks. While it’s completely harmless to fish and reptiles, it’s incredibly easy to spread—even a single leaf can hitch a ride on nets, plants, or livestock.

If you’re purchasing from us this week, please be extra mindful when transporting or introducing anything into your own tanks.

🟢 Duckweed is not dangerous, but it can quickly take over if not managed.
🧼 We recommend rinsing and inspecting anything you bring home, just to be safe.

🚨 Watch Your Step! 🚨

We’ve got a little visitor at the store — a bright red salamander has made himself at home right in the walkway and is currently busy digging his cozy spot!

🦎 He’s hard to miss, but please be careful where you step so we don’t disturb him (or worse, accidentally step on him!).

He’s a harmless little guy and just doing his thing — we’re letting him hang out while he feels safe.
