LIMA principles, or Least Intrusive Minimally Aversive, is used profusely in many training communities. Just know that this terminology is usually used in an erroneous way, and that, in no way, does it refer to not using corrections.

I was blessed to take the LIMA certification at the last IACP conference, given by none other than Steve Lindsay, who created the most definitive body of work regarding dog training - and coined the term LIMA himself!

I am now Cynopraxis/LIMA certified, and can truly help you understand what it means... With two priorities in mind: how to improve your dog's quality of life and develop the best relationship with them!

Lots of work went into Steve Lindsay's material and I am proud to be able to represent his ideology in a just/honest way.

Is your dog struggling with vet visits? It's possible, and never too late, to help your pup feel better, safer and comfortable with routine visits at the vet.

Handling should be seen as cooperative care, which is a compassionate approach to everything from nail trims to full on vet care. Often, we tend to force dogs into things they don't like or understand and, with time and repetitions, the dog only gets more difficult.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you need help! Our own puppy Vanya, who's very sensitive, shows you that calm vet visits are possible for everyone!

For those of you wondering why the business has been closed for quite a while, we have lost both Shiva and Spike in the last year - to two different cancers... Shiva fell ill first, back in July 2020, with Spike's illness declaring itself back in July 2022. So, the last two and a half years became dedicated to palliative care and oncology treatments. It bought both of them some extra time with great quality of life, which means they were able to stay with us longer...

We ended up losing Shiva in March 2022, with Spike just leaving us this past January, and the stress from all the grief took an important toll on both my physical and mental health. I'm now taking the time to heal and hopefully, I can be back to work soon... In the meantime, we're diligently working with our new puppy Vanya, who 6 months old now, and Cecil, who's still the bestest boy and big brother now that he's the oldest. They are both pictured here relaxing in free behaviour, which is great, because they're really high energy!

If you need help with anything, feel free to send an inquiry and I will see how I can help as best I can... Just not taking complicated cases for the moment, but still happy to chat! 🪷

As some of you might know, our sweet Shiva has been fighting lymphoma since July. She is doing great at this time, and has been in full remission for the last few months, but it doesn't elude us that cancer is a rampant problem amongst dogs. For this reason, we wanted to share this great article with you all.

Health, love, happiness and prevention. 💗

As some of you might know, we've been in the process of moving for a little while now and we are soon to be relocated in Eastern Ottawa! It's been a pleasure to work with all of you over the years, canines and humans alike, and we are grateful for all the good memories. We are looking forward to new beginnings, with plans of operating right from our own home in the near future. Wishing you all the best! 💗
