Shelby Ranch is located at 753 Durham Road in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia. We are a Western riding facility that offers a variety of services for beginner to intermediate riders from ages 2 to senior. We are trying to help find Bella the perfect home. ❤️

Bella came to us needing a place to stay, but I repeat… We do NOT need three large dogs! 😂

I’ve dragged my feet on posting her because she is such a sweet girl. We think she would do best with a single person or a couple looking for a loyal companion.

Bella has been around people, dogs, rabbits, emus, goats, pigs, horses, sheep, cattle, and more with no issues. Flying birds overhead and fast-moving cats can make her brain go a little silly, but otherwise she’s been wonderful.

When she greets you, she smiles. She loves giving hugs and thinks she should be held like a baby despite her size. She truly believes she’s a lap dog. ❤️

She does bark when tied and can’t see you, although she has been improving. If she’s loose and you aren’t paying attention, she may wander off, so she would benefit from continued training. She does have a recall and is eager to please.

Bella appears to be approximately 1.5–2 years old and is still playful and full of personality.

As a Great Pyrenees, guarding is in her breeding, she seems much more interested in loving her humans than keeping track of our animals. She may develop more guardian instincts with the right environment, but we don’t feel that is where her heart is.

With some continued training and consistency, Bella has all the makings of someone’s best friend.

🐝🌸 Something amazing has been happening at Shelby Ranch! 🌸🐝

Since adding honey bees to Shelby Ranch this year, we’ve noticed all kinds of new wildflowers naturally popping up across the property. Even more surprising, beautiful wild rose bushes seem to be appearing in all the right places! 🌹

The bees have been hard at work, and it’s incredible to see how much life and color they help bring to the landscape. We are so excited for all the blooms ahead!

We’ve also been busy planting dahlias and have many more flowers going in over the next few weeks. Between the wildflowers, roses, and gardens, Shelby Ranch is shaping up to be more beautiful than ever this summer. 🌼🌻🌷

We can’t wait to watch everything bloom and share it with all of you! 💛

The herd is on the move! 🐴☀️

Every trail ride starts with heading out to catch our four-legged coworkers for the day. Before long they’ll be saddled up and ready to hit the trails!

Never ridden before? No problem! Our guided trail rides are perfect for beginners and no experience is needed.
