Shelby Ranch is located at 753 Durham Road in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia. We are a Western riding facility that offers a variety of services for beginner to intermediate riders from ages 2 to senior. Ride one of our safe, patient horses in our indoor arena or explore beautiful forest trails. Send us a message to book a private or small-group riding lesson or trail ride, available 7 days a week. We hope everyone had a GREAT first day back to school! 🍎✏️

As summer vacation comes to an end and schedules start settling back into a routine, it’s also the time of year when families start thinking about sports, activities and hobbies for the fall!

🍂 WOW… how is it September 1st already?! 🤠

What a BUSY summer it has been at Shelby Ranch!

We kicked things off with travelling pony rides, and Rocky & Ruby hit the road with the carriage for the Canada Day parade. 🇨🇦🐴 Then it was full steam ahead back at the ranch with summer camps, trail rides, Petting Pen visits and so many new and familiar faces.

We’ve witnessed proposals ❤️, welcomed back some of our yearly trail ride guests who make a visit to us part of their summer tradition, and hosted travellers from all over through Harvest Hosts and Terego.

And somehow, between all of that, we’ve been painting and getting ready for the seasons ahead and we’re actually AHEAD of schedule! 😂 Usually Shelby is out there fighting with the first few snowflakes while still trying to finish painting sleighs and fence posts. ❄️🎨

We wrapped up summer with a couple of road trips. First to the Valley for a beautiful wedding with Rocky & Ruby, and then a well-deserved trip to the beach for Lexus & Maybull, who absolutely LOVE the water. 🌊🐴

Now we’re looking ahead to the last FOUR months of 2026… and trust us, we’re not slowing down. 👀
