A gapping dragon is a happy dragon!
Did you know your bearded dragons basking spot should be 110 degrees Fahrenheit? They need extreme heat to digest their food! Gapping is a great sign that you’re providing optimal heat!❤️

They may be scary to some. But all we see is their beauty.

Last Dragon post of the day😅 Shrimp!!

So we assume you're starting to see the pattern with our bearded dragons names😂 They're all just so deliciously cuddly that they've all received food names!
This large dude actually came from another rescue that needed his space so we stepped in!
He is feisty as heck when he's being picked up. Loves his food but hates baths. He is super chill in his enclosure but once he's out and about catching him is not an easy task haha!

We definitely do :D
So much so that we named this swee,t sweet girl after them!
I spent 2 months speaking to the original owner of this girl trying to convince them to surrender her who they thought was a him. She came to us with some fairly advanced MBD.
Metabolic bone disease, a sadly very common mixture of disorders caused my improper nutrition. It is most commonly caused by a calcium deficiency.
With the best lighting and heat, and a gradual increase in calcium dusted insects as well as non-calcium binding vegetables, this girl has made a full recovery. She is such a sweetheart.❤️

Curry & Mango

Curry is a little girl named after her dark yellow majesty. Mango is a handsome dude named after the beautiful orange around his eyes. They came to us from a really rough situation. Both crammed in a 50 gallon tank on filthy coloured sand that had them stained, with no heat source at all.
The first thing we did was give them water and I had never at that point seen any dragons drink for as long as these two had. Water is the easiest thing to provide for living creatures, yet sadly these two hadn't had any for who knows how long.
While bearded dragons can go long periods of time surviving off of the moisture received through veggies/fruits and insects, like all living things they do require water to survive.
When we picked them up, they were black and grey, washed out. We had no clue there was so much colour to them until we got them separated, bearded dragons live alone in the wilds of Australia, hydrated and heated properly. They both have such sweet personalities. They are truly the sweetest beardies anyone could hope to fall in love with❤️

Fun interesting fact. Bearded dragons are happiest under a hot spot of 110 degrees fahrenheit or 43.4 degress celcius. The heat makes them open their mouths (gaping) which makes it look as if they're smiling!

It's been a long time since we updated. Working to get the animals we've taken in to a point where they are healthy and trusting.
That said, here comes some animal updates!!

This little lady was named Cherry shortly after we picked her up. She was purchased originally for a child that did not want to care for her. So she was surrendered to us. She was angry, defensive and very nippy. She is still nippy 😅 but not because of of anger or a lack of trust. She's just one of those extra spicy kinda ladies that likes to show her humans she's the boss😂
She is now twice the size as when we had received her. Her growth will always be stunted, but she will still live out a long dragon life with us!

This wee one. She is almost a year old... and the size of a 4 month old. She was shipped here all the way from Nova Scotia in the hopes that our vet and experience can help her grow. She may suffer from dwarfism, which is extremely rare in the wild, but more frequent when they are in**ed. Sadly frequently done in the dragon world. Her mama loved her a ton and tried her best. Wish her luck!

Huzzah!!! Super exciting!

Guys! We could not be happier to have been able to take this picture. This little one came to us from some rough times, but with some really great insects, veggies and light and bam! This little one we named Coconut has colour! She was either pale or dark until this awesome shed. Now she's stunning and happy!! We love you Coconut!!!
