I want to give a shout out to the amazing team at Pet Styling by Becki. Stephanie, Kaytee, Meghan, Heather, Crystal, Chay, Julie and Kiah: THANK YOU. We had a fully booked schedule before the power disruption and each and every one of you didn’t hesitate to step up and offer to work on your days off, stay late or come in early to accommodate all the missed appointments. It wasn’t even questioned, you didn’t want to disappoint our amazing clients and your dedication deserves acknowledgment.

Wow! This has been a challenging week. Our power has been restored (thank you to the Hydro crews!) and we have managed to book in most of the appointments that were booked during the outage. Our online booking is currently open, please use this option as our phone line will likely be tied up for a little bit. Thank you for your patience and understanding and I hope everyone is back up and running soon!

According to Hydro One, we won’t be back in business until Friday April 4th. This is going to be difficult to reschedule so many appointments while grooming the clients who are booked next week. We appreciate your patience & we will work hard to get everyone taken care of as soon as we can!

Update Tuesday April 1st (this isn’t a joke and it’s not funny anymore 😩)
Hydro One has estimated that we could have power on tonight sometime. We will be contacting all missed appointments as soon as possible and ask that you please be patient as we have dozens of pets to reschedule in our already packed schedule. We can do this but it will require some time to get caught up 💪

Unfortunately this isn’t much of an update. We still have no power and have no information about when it will be restored. Several of our groomers are also without power in their homes. My internet and cell reception have been very spotty and I cannot access the software to do anything with the schedule or contact any clients. I apologize for the inconvenience and fingers crossed that we are back online soon!

We are still without power and unfortunately, I do not have access to our schedule to call clients who are booked to reschedule their appointments. I hope everyone stays safe and gets somewhere warm today. Watch for more updates.

Update: Power is currently out at the shop and we have some groomers who may not be able to make it in tomorrow even if it does come back on. In the event that we do not have power in the morning, we will post here and remain closed. I won’t have access to the software to contact individual appointments so please check back to see if we will be able to operate. Stay safe!

The warm weather has really got our phone ringing and online booking busy!! It’s been a longgggg winter and we are looking forward to seeing all our four legged friends 🐾 🌼 Please be advised that the Spring rush may lead to longer wait times for appointments, so book now to avoid disappointment.

This is the time of year that groomers that work in colder climates start encountering matted dogs and well-meaning owners that want to leave length on their pet to keep them warmer. As groomers, we understand this desire but it’s not always possible or in the best interest of the animal if the matting has gotten too tight and pervasive. Sometimes we can save some of the coat if the dog will tolerate dematting but sometimes clipping short is the most humane option. Removing matting is time consuming, requires skill and is offered as an extra service at Pet Styling by Becki at the professional groomer’s discretion. Our clients trust us to do what is best for your pet but here is a general suggested grooming schedule to help you keep your dogs coat maintained so you can choose what length works best for you and your pet. *schedule is approximate so please consult with your groomer for the perfect appointment time for your individual pet

Our options are limited as professional dog groomers because we are not veterinarians and cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions. Our new TheraClean system offers a safe and effective solution to many concerns pet owners have and compliments and veterinary treatment.

Notice to clients: In response to the USA’s imposed tariffs, we will be transitioning away from products made in America to products manufactured in Canada. Our goal is to maintain the same (or better!) quality pet grooming you have come to expect from us while trialing some new products. We are seeing a marked increase in pancreatitis cases after the Christmas holidays! New treats, table scraps, and bones are the biggest culprits for landing many dogs in the ER with GI upset. Pancreatitis is a painful condition usually characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and inappetence. If your pet is showing these signs, please have them evaluated right away! Pancreatitis can range from mild (some outpatient medications) to severe (intensive care in the hospital for several days) so it is important to have them evaluated sooner rather than later. 🏥

Maybe it’s my emotional connection to the movie, Homeward Bound but there is just something about senior golden retrievers❤️ 🐾 Buddy is the epitome of “Good boy”.
