✨ UPDATE ✨

It's been pretty quiet over here, we are just processing everything, as there's been A LOT that's happened.

I was down home for a week last month, as my father was in the hospital. This was shortly after I made the announcement that I will be closing.

I came home and the day after I ended up in the hospital from a gallbladder attack. I was then put on an acute outpatient surgery list.

I am officially one week post-op as of yesterday! I am slowly letting my body heal, but overall it's been quite smooth. Thank-you for everyone who has sent me well wishes, flowers or who check in, it means so much to me. 🥹💚

Our last shipment to the US will be happening next Saturday (June 7th) and on that trip will be the last of my available rats.

I have kept 4 females (Mantis, Cricket, Hurricane & Nova) and 4 males (Dragon, Enoki, Morel & Goose). They will be my pets and receive all of the love I have to give during my down time. They are the faces you will be seeing posted here until we decide to reopen.

I will have 3 DCN's for sale. They have been sprayed with a vinegar mixture, pressure washed and dried in the sunshine. ☀️ There are some rust spots on them, but still usable as is. They could use a re-finish, but fine to use. I'm asking $200 for #1 & #2, and $150 for #3 (I will be making a seperate post regarding these). #3 is patched and has some rust, but still very much usable and can be refinished if the user desires.

Thank-you all for your love on the last post and all your well wishes moving forward. I cannot wait to come back and be better than ever. 🤞💚

For now, lots of rest and focusing on priorities is my main goal for this year! 🍀

Cloverfield Rattery is closing. 🍀

I have always strived to be transparent with my adopters and the public.

Right now life is absolutely insane and I'm not spending as much time as I need to in there. I can feel my passion flickering and it's becoming a "chore" for me, instead of enjoyable.

So I'm going to be selling off my holdbacks, keeping a few pets and stopping for a while.

When I'm ready again, maybe in a year or so, I'll reach out to hopefully purchase some babies to restart. I have enough breeders working with my lines to restart with my genetics exclusively.

Please be patient with me as I go through this transition. Rats have been my entire life for a very long time and it's been difficult to come to this decision.

Thank-you to everyone who has been such incredible support. Every single friendly face I have met has impacted what I do. Every pet I have placed or breeder I have met have all influenced me to be a better breeder and overall person. 🤍

I will be keeping this account open, there might be a name change in the future, I haven't decided yet.

I will be keeping a few pets, so they will be posted here.

I'm so sorry, but this is something I need to do for myself and my family at this time.

We have regained power and have spent this last week "de-storming" our home. 😮‍💨

To say I am tired is an understatement. But we are getting back in the swing of things, starting with a fun post!

We have 3 girls getting picked up this weekend as well as a big shipment heading to the US this month. 🥰

Peep and Apricot have both maintained their pregnancies and are quite large. I'm expecting babies within a week.

I will be making my next pairings shortly as well. Probably early next week. I can announce those when I make the final choices.

We have a couple more announcements, but I will make those in the coming weeks as needed.

Regardless of our power outage and absolute crazy time, we managed to get an adopter her new baby. 🤍

When Jessica seen that Starling had become available, she scooped him up to be with his brother Vulture!

She is the proud mama of 6 Cloverfield boys and a dear friend of mine. 🍀

We have been without power for approx 16hrs.

For those of you that don't know, Northern Ontario has been hit with an absolute brutal ice storm. While roads are fine, power cables and trees are so weighed down they are snapping and transformers are blowing left, right and centre.

Our estimated time of power is 6:30pm, March 30th (today). I will try my best to keep everyone updated, but we have to preserve phone battery for emergencies.

We have already visited the local arena to charge our devices and would like them to last as long as possible to avoid more travel.

For now, everyone is hunkered down in the living room (2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 geckos and a bunch of rats). Rats are in travel cages and carriers to encourage cuddling and body warmth.

Hey y'all, this is an important post, so please bear with me.

Moving forward, Cloverfield will no longer breeding the snowflake line or dragon eye line.

We will still have our OG line and our project lines (DWS & Harley).

This is soley for the fact that I have to downsize. Life has thrown me a curve ball and I have to adjust. I need to lessen the work load and stress, therefore the lines that are currently struggling to keep going are the ones I've chosen to drop.

For those of you that are waiting to pick up your babies, nothing has changed. ☺️ Your babies are all still reserved and awaiting pickup/drop off!

For people on my waitlist, nothing has changed for you either! We still have an array of colours, patterns and coat types to choose from once babies hit the ground.

We will be refinishing all of our critter nations and two will be for sale. I will post them whenever I get around to refinishing them. (That will be this spring, probably in the next few weeks). They will be available on a first come, first serve basis. You must pickup from me in Peterborough, as I cannot transport these cages as of the current moment.

We have not brought any rats into our rattery in the last year and don't plan on bringing any in for the foreseeable future. (Aside from , which we are on a waitlist for a specific type of rat).

We will be revamping a bit of our paperwork in the next few months as well.

Nothing changes for any adopters, but I just wanted to let everyone know what is going on behind the scenes.

It was not easy to come to this decision, but it needed to happen. Breeding rats is not an easy job. It is taxing both physically and mentally. Please remember to be patient with your breeder, we are humans too and do experience burnout. While rats are a very important part of our lives, we do have lives outside of our ratteries.

Hey y'all! I know it's been quiet over here, I apologize. I have been in and out of the hospital over the last two weeks. It's been quite exhausting. 😮‍💨

Here is March's calendar! I can't wait for everyone to get their long awaited babies. ☺️ They're all growing like weeds. 🌱

I'm heading down home for a much needed visit (it's been since December! 🤯), but monthly trips will be starting up again!

Remember that we can deliver anywhere along the 401/407, from Peterborough to Brantford when we do those trips, for a minimal fee (depending on how far off the highway you are located, if you can meet us near one of the off/on ramps, there will be no charge!).

Peep is expecting VERY soon, she was bred to her brother and we will be expecting martens will hopefully a lot of beautiful dragon eye babies!

Invidious will be paired and I'm hoping for silvermane and downunder, all in standard coats.
