We have some kitties starting to head to next week to find their new homes. Mario and Nina are so ready! Rosemary is adopted and headed home soon. Luigi and Peach need a little more time to work on handling. I can’t wait to see what they are like once bold and confident Mario leaves. I find when the big personalities leave the shyer ones really come out of their shells.

I can almost guarantee that black one is gonna end up being the cuddliest! Day 3 and we have one food motivated kitten. The other two were slow blinking at me and not trembling anymore. They are learning to use their litter box and are very hungry. So far no health problems but it’s early. Everyone had the usual worms 🪱

On days 1-3 I leave scaredy kittens the eff alone! I do only the necessary things and wait for them to decompress and get acclimatized to being indoors before we start our socializing. Judging from my interactions so far these three will be easy peasy - even the black one!

They are vewy scawy! These three were trapped today by a caregiver. The remaining sibling will hopefully be trapped tomorrow and the Moms and Big Daddy will be trapped on the weekend and TNRed.

It is taking all my strength and will power to not try and pet that tail! Luigi is still so shy and is not seeking affection yet. The only time I get to pet him is when he’s eating but I can tell we are getting close to him trusting us.

This variety pack of older shy former barn kittens has been a delight to foster and watch them change. They went from scaredy and avoidant (Mario hissed at me for 3 months!) to friendly and playful housecats. With the right homes they will flourish.
