Alice & Fraser Horse Association Alice & Fraser Horse Association is a non-profit local horse club run by dedicated volunteers. These weekend shows are open to all AFHA members.

Bringing opportunities for local horsemen and horsewomen since 1968. The Alice & Fraser Horse Association (AFHA) was founded in 1962 by a dedicated group of local horsemen and women who wanted a venue where they could compete in western, english and hitch events each summer. The Association is still run entirely by volunteers, and while the Hitch classes are no longer held, Western and English sho

ws are still held every summer. The club operates our of the Alice and Fraser Recreation Center grounds at 1 Henan Road in Pembroke. The AFHA hosts a total of 3 Points Days each season, with Western events held on Saturday, and English on Sunday of each Points weekend. The Points shows are considered "schooling" shows, with certified judges providing valuable feedback to all riders, regardless of age, ability, experience, or discipline. Western Shows consist of a variety of western events - Halter, Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship and Trail classes every morning,and speed-based, timed Games events every afternoon. English shows consist of Hunter/Equitation classes, with riders divided based on the ability of the rider and/or the horse. Riders accrue points at each of these 3 shows, towards trophies, belt buckles and awards at the end of the year. The awards are handed out at the annual Awards banquet, held each fall, in October. There is also a single-weekend Open Classic Show every July, run separate from the Points events. Non-members may compete at this event for a nominal day fee. The Classic is kindly sponsored by local businesses, where cash prizes and ribbons are awarded to the top 5 riders in each class! The Executive of the AFHA meets the first Tuesday of every month (except January). AFHA BUCKLE SERIES FINALS SHOW INFO
SATURDAY, AUGUST 30th 🛢️

☀️9AM START TIME

🗓️SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY
9AM Start
- Pole Bending
- Barrels
LUNCH BREAK (around noon)
- Superhorse (FLAG)
- Relay (fun class)

We will have an extra class for fun this day. The game will be RELAY and a prize will be awarded to the fastest team. This class will be $10 entry per horse/rider.

- Enter as teams of TWO horses/riders
- You may enter the same horse/rider a maximum of 3 RUNS
- How it goes: Both riders start at end of arena, Rider #1 has relay baton and starts, running one full lap around the arena, time starts once rider passes timer eyes, rider #2 waits for rider #1 to pass off baton and once received runs one full lap around the arena, once rider #2 crosses timer eyes at end of their full lap the timer stops
- *if baton is dropped between the time start and time stop, it is a NO TIME

It costs nothing to be kind, both in and out of the arena💙 So bring your best game, your best attitude, your best sportsmanship and horsemanship to the grounds this Friday night.

Reminder: YEAR END AWARDS 🏆 are based off of a horse and rider team average. To qualify:
- horse/rider must ride in a minimum of 3 out of 4 buckle series shows
- times recorded for a horse/rider combination do not go to the rider, it goes to the combination of horse and rider (if rider enters on different horse for other shows those times are NOT counted towards previous times ran on a different horse — rider must be on same horse(s) for 3 out of 4 shows to qualify for awards).
