Training young horses is one of the most rewarding and exciting jobs, and at the same time, it can be one of the most difficultโฆ because every horse is different. They think differently, learn differently, mature differently, and respond to training differently.
๐ก๐ผ ๐๐๐ผ ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น, ๐๐ผ ๐ป๐ผ ๐๐๐ผ ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ถ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ.
As they are learning, I'm learning right alongside them. I'm learning how they process information, what gives them confidence, what challenges them, and what approach translates easiest for that individual horse. ๐ช๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ด ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐บ๐ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ท๐ผ๐ฏ is to figure out what each horse needs from me so I can build a foundation that gives them the best opportunity to succeed.
The most rewarding part comes when it finally clicks for that horse. When the pieces start coming together and they begin to understand their job. ๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ, ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐. Watching a young horse gain confidence, develop through the process, and begin tapping into its highest potential is what makes training so rewarding.
Then one day, I get the opportunity to walk that same horse into the show pen. The horse that once needed time, patience, and guidance is now confident in its job and ready to show. Moments like that remind me why the foundation matters and why ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฑ๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐ ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ต ๐ถ๐.
