💲 Always keep cash drawers closed when not in use.
💲 Display signs saying there is little cash and employees cannot access the safe.
💲 Install video surveillance equipment.
💲 Make sure that all entry points are monitored or locked.

Copper's value has increased by 400% in the last few years. Thieves have become so desperate for copper that they steal it from dangerous sources like power poles.

So, if you see a damaged power pole or a power line on the ground, contact your electric utility provider. Also, stay at least 10 metres away from the damaged power line.

We are well into wildfire season. If you are not prepared for a fire, follow these steps.

● Ensure that you have a plan in place and that your emergency kits are ready
● Remove items that can burn within 5 feet of your home, such as dry foliage and lawn furniture
● Stay updated on the status and location of wildfires, and fire bans
● Install smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms on every floor
● Always obey an evacuation order if issued; failing to do so puts lives at risk

High traffic areas like shopping centres and airports see increased numbers of vehicle thefts. If you are planning on getting some shopping done or travelling this season, the RCMP recommends taking extra precautions when leaving your vehicles unattended. Make sure your vehicle is locked, and use your key or the lock button on the door to prevent criminals from cloning the FOB. It is also recommended you utilize a steering wheel club and hide your valuables.

Criminals have easy access to portable technology which can be utilized to steal vehicles, called a relay attack.

Your vehicle’s key fob constantly emits a proximity signal, which can be copied and transmitted to unlock your vehicle. Then, once inside, depending on the make and model of your vehicle, they may be able to start your vehicle and drive away.

How can you prevent a relay attack?
🚗 Park your vehicle inside your garage or in a highly visible location
🚗 Use a steering wheel locking device
🚗 Faraday key pouches block the remote key signal, preventing it from being copied
🚗 Store your keys away from the front door
