A no kill animal shelter, a safe haven until they are adopted out to forever loving homes:) We accept donations of gently used items (please, no clothing).
Mission Statement
Dryden’s own Second Chance Pet Network provides a safe haven for surrendered and abandoned animals, pending their adoption into loving, forever homes. Vision Statement
To help control the pet population in Dryden and surrounding area through spaying and neutering and to have all pets adopted into loving, forever homes. We are a not for profit organization who relies on the genero
us donations from the citizens of Dryden and surrounding area. Donations are graciously accepted with charitable receipts provided for all cash donations of $20 and over. Second Chance Pet Network is a registered charity, #85116 7858 RR0001. To help with the cost of shelter, food and litter, we run a flea market at the shelter site. These items are available for a monetary donation – we only require that the donation amount be reasonable in relation to the value of the items received. We also manage the feral cat colonies at Dryden’s Hwy 502 and Barclay Landfill sites, as well as the landfill site in Sioux Lookout, through a T-N-R program (trap-neuter-return). We accept donations of cat/dog food, Canadian Tire money or Extra Foods superbucks for the Food for Pets program for Dryden’s Food Bank. Recently, a low cost spay/neuter program has been put in place. A Kidz Klub is also available for children to participate in. New members and volunteers welcome. We are currently in need of foster homes so we can start giving dogs a second chance as well. We accept volunteers of all ages. To foster an animal or to become a Friend of Second Chance Pet Network, please download and fill out our SCPN Friends Application & Waiver (pdf). Help create a shelter by purchasing a brick for $25. A permanent shelter to service Dryden, Sioux Lookout and the surrounding areas is desperately needed. Please donate to our Build-a-Shelter, Brick-by-Brick campaign. A $25 donation will purchase one brick in your name or in honour of someone else or in memory of a loved one or just because. Check out the campaign board at the shelter.

At 6:30 pm, our drivers left with 46 kittens/cats to meet up with the Toronto Cat Rescue driver in Sault Saint Marie. From there, they head to Toronto to start looking for their new homes. So many thanks to the Toronto Cat Rescue for taking this amazing bunch. And our volunteers that came to help load and then stayed to help clean, thank you is not enough. I really do not know how this place would survive without all of you

Should have posted this earlier but the remaining cats wanted breakfast...go figure! Lindsay and the 25 arrived in Sault Saint Marie about 10 last nite, met Kelly and by 11 the cats were in Kelly's van and headed out on the final part of their trip. Lindsay got some sleep and is now on her way home. Safe travels girl!

ODIE is a one year old Great Dane Mix that is available for adoption.
He's great with other dogs and cats - and even a Ferret :). He is a bigger dog that doesn't know his own strength and could easily knock over a small child. So it would be better for him to go to a home with no kids.
He was abandoned by his owners and was rescued by 3 police officers and has been at the shelter for a few months. However he's now ready to be sprung!
If you're interested in adoption please go to our website at www.secondchancepetnetwork.ca and fill out an application.
WELCOME TO SECOND CHANCE PET NETWORK'S (SCPN) WEBSITE BECAUSE OF ILLNESSES, WE HAVE TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE AT THE SHELTER. PLEASE BE SURE YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AND WE...

This post is a little late, but like they say, "Better late than never!" June 21/25 was Indigenous Peoples day. Ila Bureau, a grade 7 St. Joseph school student, did a project called Make the World a Better Place. She set up a booth outside the arena with printed resources from the SCPN website, sold bottles of water, collected donations for SCPN and handed out business cards she had made. She is one amazing girl and we very much thank her....her parents must be so proud!! Again, sorry for being so late in posting!
