Forever grateful for our amazing clients 🐕💚✨
🐈⬛PET GROOMING INFO🐈⬛ Whenever Sigmund gets a haircut I receive lots of questions, so here’s info for my fellow pet parents. Mostly pertains to cats, but sharing info for doggies, bunnies, and guinea pigs too!
🐈⬛ Why? Siggy is a floofball who isn’t good at cleaning himself. He hates when I try to brush/comb him, so he becomes grumpy and uncomfortable with a matted undercoat. The first time we took him for a haircut it was night and day: he became a spunky kitten again! He’s happiest as a short-haired cat.
🐈⬛ Where: We’ve been taking Sigmund to Furry Friends Spa and Daycare in Old Ottawa East for over 10 years. They’re one of the only places in town fully trained and certified to groom cats. This is 🔑 because cats’ skin is far more delicate than dogs’ and prone to nicks and cuts. Beware of anyone who says “oh I groom dogs so I can groom cats.”🚩
🐈⬛ When? Based on Siggy’s regrowth, he’s happiest when we take him approx 3x/year. He specifically gets a full lion cut (mane, ugg boots, pom pom tail), but FF Spa & Daycare 🐾] also has options like hair cut, deshedding, nail trim, and more.
🐈⬛ Cost? We pay $90 plus tax and tip for Sigmund’s grooming appointments, which last about 2 hours and include a full bath, his lion cut, and a nail trim. Tip big because they really take their time and sometimes get peed on.🙈
🐈⬛ Why doesn’t my other cat get hair cuts? Because he doesn’t need it. Don Alfonso cleans himself thoroughly *and* lets me brush him *and* is a nervous nelly who hates the car and new environments, so he does best at home.
🐈⬛ 🐶 🐇 Furry Friends has grooming for cats, dogs, bunnies, and guinea pigs, plus doggy day care, and dog and cat boarding. I’ll link their site in my IG stories.
➡️ Pet parents: drop your furball’s name in the comments and tell us one of their silliest habits/high jinks. We could all use a laugh these days.🤗
Disclosure: not sponsored, we’ve been paying clients for over a decade.
