Black horse-sized tie down with black rhinestone chain and black cording. Hot fix black crystals applied throughout the bonnet for some extra subtle sparkle as it hits the sun. This bonnet has soundproof ears and a custom decal on the left ear.

Three years ago when I started making bonnets I did everything by hand. I had used a sewing machine, but it was back in Gr 7 (which is a long time ago for me 😂). In order to make the ears on the bonnet I needed to use a sewing machine. I will admit those first few ears were redone several times before it looked good. I found the more I used the sewing machine the better I became. So I started looking for fun, simple projects to make. A couple of months ago my kids needed stirrup covers for their stirrups so they didn’t scratch the saddle. I walked into the tack shop and was going to spend $100 on two pairs. I didn’t want to do that. So, I tried making them. Well, I haven’t gone back. I love how simple they are to make, how easy they wash up and they do a great job of protecting the stirrups from scratching the saddle! And I am getting so good at sewing too! I have a bunch of stirrup covers ready made. These will come to shows with me for purchase or you can order your today.

Charcoal cob-sized square bonnet finished in .c._equestrian colours. Burgundy trim with silver rhinestone ribbon edged with black cotton trim and black rhinestones. Finally a large silver rhinestone chain was used for some extra sparkle.

Black sparkly acrylic oversized tie-down bonnet. Finished with pink & silver rhinestone ribbon. Edged with black cording and pink rhinestone chain. This bonnet sparkles for days!

With the addition of some new followers I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself and why I started this little business of mine.

My name is Erin and I have had a lifelong passion for horseback riding and all things horses. Fast forward many years and now I have 3 young equestrians who luckily share my passion of horses. With this comes lots of requests for horse related items and that can get expensive really fast. So after looking at $150 custom bonnets I decided it was something I could definitely try to make (I have always been crafty as well and enjoy a good challenge). So I started making items for my kids. With that came a few requests from friends.

In 2024 I decided to take my grow my business to create stunning bonnets for everyday equestrians at a reasonable price!

I have created bonnets to match saddle pads (ogilvy, Lemieux, Shedrow, Weatherbeeta), themed bonnets (an Elmers glue bonnet 🤣), have re-created high end bonnets for clients.

In addition to bonnets I can also make horse and rider toque sets (which are great for winter photo shoots). I even created a Yoshi helmet cover for my daughter’s costume for a Derby last summer.

With 2026 show season approaching I am happy to help you create a stunning show bonnet. Bonnets start at $65 (until May 3rd) and this includes 2 of the following finishing options (cording, rhinestone chain, rhinestone ribbon and/or yarn cording accent).

I am looking forward to 2026 and can’t wait to see what kind of bonnets I have the opportunity to create this year!

A sea of bonnets. It been a long winter and there are lots of bonnets ready to be finished. This is my favourite part. Playing with all of the different combinations. What’s your favourite finishing detail? Rose gold crystal trim or royal blue piping with black iridescent ribbon?
