A**l glands are small scent glands located near your pet’s a**s. While many dogs and cats empty them naturally, some pets need a little extra help. When glands become impacted, they can become painful, infected, and in some cases even rupture.

Considering all the adorable pets you shared with us, there seemed to be some doubts about our Microsoft Paint skills...so we gave it a go.

Our next rabies vaccination clinic is on May 22, which means this poster is no longer a joke, it’s public health communication. Or is it art? We’ll leave that up to your interpretation.

Using a warm cloth first helps soften any buildup, making it easier and more comfortable to remove with a flea comb. Always be gentle, work slowly, and never force dried debris off the skin. Keeping the eye area clean helps your pup stay comfortable and looking fresh between grooming appointments! 💕

✨ DOODLE OWNERS ✨

Doodle coats are beautiful—but they are also high maintenance.
Without regular care, they can quickly become severely matted or even pelted (tightly tangled right down to the skin).

💔 Why matting matters:
• It pulls on your dog’s skin (very uncomfortable)
• It can hide sores, irritation, and infections
• It traps moisture and bacteria
• Surface brushing won’t fix it once it’s tight underneath

✂️ When coats reach this stage, the only safe and humane option is a full shave-down to reset the coat and relieve discomfort.

🐶 The good news? It’s preventable.

✔️ Brush thoroughly to the skin (line brushing is key!)
✔️ Stay on a consistent grooming schedule (every 6–8 weeks)
✔️ Use the right tools and ask your groomer for guidance
✔️ Don’t wait until you “can’t get a brush through”

We love doodles—but they require commitment to keep them comfortable and healthy 💛
