We’re Moving! Big Changes Are Coming!

We’re excited to share some major updates as we prepare for a big move!

While some finer details are still being finalized, here’s what you need to know:

🛻 We’re relocating!
Starting this fall, we will no longer be based out of Orleans. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing Orleans clients who have supported us and helped us grow over the past few years.
Moving forward, we’ll only be servicing the Orleans area once every 4 weeks, and unfortunately daily drop-ins and medical treatments will no longer be available in that region.

📍New Home Base: St. Albert!
With our new location, we’ll now start and end our routes in St. Albert, which allows us to offer more flexibility for surrounding areas.

❌ Goodbye Quebec
As of November 1st, we will no longer be offering services in Quebec. This means the Aylmer/Gatineau route will be discontinued. We’re truly sorry to our Quebec clients—we’ve loved serving you, but the distance is now too great to make it work.

🗺️ Route Changes & New Areas
Existing routes will be slightly adjusted to reflect our new home base, and we’re excited to announce new coverage in areas like Vankleek Hill, Osgoode, and Cornwall! We can't wait to meet new clients and continue growing our community.

Thank you for your continued support through this transition! 💛

Nail Cap Application for Cats 🐾
Worried about your cat scratching furniture or accidentally hurting someone with their claws? Nail caps are a safe, humane, and effective solution! These soft, non-toxic caps are applied over your cat’s claws to help prevent damage while still allowing natural movement. They typically last 4–6 weeks and fall off as your cat’s nails grow. Application is quick and painless—and we’re happy to help make the process stress-free for you and your feline friend!

🦜 Bird Care Tips for Your Feathered Friends! 🦜

Our avian companions may be small, but they require just as much love, care, and attention as any other pet! Proper bird care helps keep them happy, healthy, and living their best life.

Here are a few important tips to keep in mind:

🌿 Diet Matters
Offer a variety of seeds, pellets, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Avoid avocado, chocolate, caffeine, and salty foods — these can be toxic to birds.

🧼 Clean Environment
Clean food and water dishes daily. Regularly change cage liners and sanitize perches and toys to keep harmful bacteria at bay.

🪶 Enrichment & Socialization
Birds are intelligent and social creatures! Provide toys, mirrors, and plenty of interaction to prevent boredom and stress.

🦶 Don’t Forget Grooming!
We proudly offer nail and beak trimming services to our feathered friends! Overgrown nails or beaks can cause discomfort, injury, or trouble eating — regular maintenance is key to keeping your bird comfortable and healthy.

📍Serving the Ottawa and surrounding areas — house calls available for your convenience.
📩 Contact us to book an appointment or ask about your bird’s specific needs!

Because every pet, no matter how small, deserves compassionate, professional care. 💚

🐰 Bunny Care & Grooming 🐰

Rabbits make wonderful companions, but they require just as much care and attention as dogs or cats. If you're a bunny parent, here’s a quick reminder of what goes into keeping your furry friend healthy and happy — and how we can help!

✨ Grooming & Maintenance
Regular grooming is essential for rabbits, especially during shedding seasons. We offer:

Nail Trims: Overgrown nails can cause pain or injury. We provide gentle, safe trims to keep their feet in top shape.

Scent Gland Cleaning: Bunnies have scent glands near their ge****ls that can build up and become uncomfortable. We can help clean them properly.

Brushing: Frequent brushing helps prevent fur matting and reduces the risk of hairballs (which bunnies can’t cough up!).

🥕 Feeding Basics
A healthy bunny diet should include:

Unlimited fresh hay (the cornerstone of their diet)

Daily fresh greens

Limited pellets and occasional treats

Constant access to clean, fresh water

🏠 Proper Housing
Bunnies need more than a cage — they need space to hop, explore, and play. Make sure their enclosure:

Is large enough for full stretching and zoomies

Is cleaned regularly

Includes safe chew toys and hideouts

Has a solid floor with comfortable bedding (avoid wire bottoms)

🏡 Going Away? We Offer Drop-In Bunny Care!
If you're traveling or just need a helping hand, we offer drop-in pet sitting services in the Orléans area! We'll swing by to:

Feed your bunny

Freshen up their water and hay

Clean and tidy enclosures

Give them some love and attention while you're away

Your bunny's comfort and safety are our top priority. 🐇💕

📍 Serving Ottawa and surrounding areas — reach out to book grooming or pet sitting services!

Let’s Talk About A**l Glands 🐶💩

Not the most glamorous topic—but an important one! Your dog has two small a**l glands located just inside their re**um. These glands naturally release a smelly, oily fluid when your dog poops. It’s their unique “calling card” for other dogs.

🔍 When Do A**l Glands Become a Problem?
Sometimes, especially in small breeds or dogs with soft stools, the glands don’t empty properly. This can lead to:

Scooting or dragging their bum on the floor

Excessive licking or biting at the rear

A strong, fishy odour

Swelling or discomfort around the a**s

If left untreated, full glands can become impacted or even infected, leading to pain and abscesses that may require veterinary care.

🫧 How Can You Help?
Routine expression can help prevent issues—some dogs need it monthly, others only occasionally.
It’s usually done during grooming visits or by a vet tech. If you notice your dog scooting or showing signs of discomfort, it’s a good idea to get them checked out.

💡 Want to Stay on Top of It?
Ask about our Annual A**l Glands Package—a convenient, cost-effective way to keep your pup comfortable all year long. Includes regular gland expressions and optional add-ons like nail trims or ear cleaning. Set it and forget it—your dog’s bum will thank you. 🐾

⚠️ Important Note:
If your dog is suddenly showing symptoms or if there’s swelling, redness, or pus—this isn’t just a grooming issue. It’s time to see a vet.

How Often Should You Trim Your Cat’s Nails? 🐾✂️

Did you know your cat’s nails should be trimmed every 4–6 weeks? Regular nail trims are an important part of your cat’s overall health and comfort — especially for indoor cats who aren’t naturally wearing them down.

Benefits of regular nail trims include:
✅ Preventing painful overgrowth and ingrown nails
✅ Reducing the risk of broken or split claws
✅ Minimizing damage to your furniture (and your skin!)
✅ Helping your cat stay comfortable and mobile

If your kitty isn’t a fan of nail trims, don’t worry — we can help with gentle, stress-free care! 🐱💅 Let’s keep those paws healthy and happy. 💖
