Welcoming Grace to the team 🐾

Grace will be running day school & all things nosework! Being a graduate of Tarheel school for dog trainers, she has an extensive knowledge of dog training. While at Tarheel, Grace purchased and trained her very own certified explosives detection dog. Having spent countless hours refining her skill she is looking forward to bringing it to the public.

Grace is also the owner of .canine, a successful grooming operation. I find myself thankful to be teaming up with such a powerhouse.

Last fall I went changed vets, at my first appointment I asked about putting Massey on Omeprozale. Her entire life she’s suffered from acid reflux after eating, Omeprozale would ease that reflux.
Instead, I was told the issue is my dog is “really intense”. My calm, settles anywhere, medium drive dog labelled really intense? Surely she is not intense in the vet office where she is relaxed standing for her exam, being affectionate with the staff. Massey is deemed intense based on her breed mix.

Instead of acquiescing with a solution for my dog’s acid reflux I’m offered “calming medication”. I was appalled. I said my dog has acid reflux and the solution is to sedate her?? While I firmly believe in trusting your professionals, this is a prime example as to why I would never seek behaviour or training advice from a vet.
