We need your help!

We’re hoping to move to a new spot with a better set up for the bnb, but we want your opinion!

Let us know which area you would be willing to bring your bunny to. We can’t guarantee where we will end up but we do want to consider if there are areas that would be more favourable :)

Thanks so much!!

We have officially entered the “ber” months!

Please please please get your holiday requests in early! This is always a busy time and we often have to start turning down requests already.

This year - a holiday rate surcharge will apply of an additional $10/day.

A single bunny will be $32/day from the 20th to January 3rd. If their stay extends past then, it will go back to $22/day starting January 4th.

This is the ONLY holiday we surcharge for all year, as it requires us to come home from dinners and celebrations a little early.

We only have space left for 3 xpens so book quickly!

Thank you for your understanding and for being the best clients!

Let’s help Ebony find a forever home. She has been waiting more than 3 YEARS!

🐰Ottawa area🐰Our little Ebony is still looking for that perfect person to love her. She had a foster to adopt bond and it was going well however unfortunately the potential family had to deal with dome unexpected health Issues and had to return her to us. Her foster parents have welcomed her back with open arms but we would love to see her find her FOREVER home. She would be an excellent single rabbit or be a potential bond to another neutered male rabbit as she has shown us she does enjoy the company of other rabbits. She would not be a good candidate for young children or with loud/active canine friends.

Ebony is a small bunny (1.8kgs)with a big personality and lots of bunnitude (bunny-attitude). She is the Queen of her little kingdom (ie the bedroom she gets to free-roam 24/7) with lots of sass and a bit of a diva streak. She is the boss and she want you to know it, but her foster parents are wrapped around her little paw, so they don’t mind keeping-up with her high-maintenance standards. They love spoiling Ebony and making her happy because she never had nice things to call her own before being rescued. She is just starting to learn how amazing and good life can be when cared for by good humans.

Ebony is a bunny with complex needs. She was rescued from a very bad past, which included being physically abused by humans, and she still carries emotional scars. To survive, Ebony developed certain aggressive behaviours as self-defense, including cage aggression and grunting/biting when scared. She can easily startle and has an anxious disposition around unfamiliar people or things. Her foster parents have spent months working with her to help rehabilitate from her trauma. They are incredibly proud of the progress she has made, but she will always be affected by her past and require special consideration from her caregivers. Ebony’s foster parents have developed a few ways of accommodating her special needs, and they will go-over everything in detail with any potential adopters.

Despite her difficult past, Ebony is still so vibrant and joyful to be alive in the present. She starts every morning with binkies and zoomies. Her foster parents say she binkies more than other bunny in the home. She is very playful and enjoys a variety of enrichments toys, like hidey-holes, stacking cups, sticks to chew, and her favourite stuffed piggie. Digging in the laundry basket is probably her favourite past time, with tearing apart cardboard boxes and hanging out in her tunnel being close seconds. She will chew cables if given the opportunity but isn’t otherwise destructive when given proper enrichment.

Ebony is excellent at eating her hay, she loves first cut timothy but is not picky. In the past, Ebony had limited exposure to fresh green veggies, but she is curious and loves to try new ones. She really enjoys her pellets too (Versele Laga brand), which her foster parents often use to distract her during cage-cleaning time. Ebony has an excellent sense of time and will let you know if you are running late on any of her meals or treats. Ebony’s litter habits are impeccable, as long as the human’s litter box cleaning schedule is also impeccable. However, likely due to her past trauma, she does not tolerate a wet litter box and she will start to go outside the box if it’s not topped up daily.

Ebony is just waiting for the perfect humans to call her forever family, ones who can respect her boundaries and accommodate her complex needs. She will do best in a home without children but may be suited for bonding with a calm and docile male bunny. She has met a cat before but has never lived with cats however we would consider a home with docile feline friends and do a trial. She will need humans that are bun-savvy and have past experience with anxious or traumatised rabbits. Ebony’s foster parents love her to pieces, and they know there is a perfect forever family out there for her, one who will understand how she is affected by her bad past and will promise her a future that is happily ever after.

Because Ebony is so special, her adoption fee is reduced to $100. She has a clean bill of health, is spayed and up to date on her RHDV vaccine and her last vet appointment was January 20th 2025. Our vet approximates her to be just on the edge of being a senior so we do recommend an Oxbow Joint support supplement daily to help with her joints and mobility, even though she doesn’t act like it at all! She is so deserving of a loving forever home that will love her for many years to come. We know there is someone out there for her, if you are interested in meeting or talking more about Ebony please reach out!

Most of you would have seen that I lost Atlas, our namesake and his bun wife Chewie this past year. They were 10 and 11 - lived good long bunny lives, but I still miss them everyday. 💙💜

With Atlas and Chewie gone, some of you may have seen them in pictures before, but I wanted to formally introduce the two remaining “hosts” of the bnb. 🐇🐇

T-Rex (male, white and brown) and Jemma (female brown) are my two bunnies who became foster fails last year.

T-Rex was rescued from a free kijiji ad- being discarded because his teeth were overgrown and in desperate need of a vet visit. I instantly fell in love with him after he came home. These days he’s living his best free roam life, and channeling his inner Atlas, getting into mischief 24:7. I named him T-Rex as he is now a “toothless rex” since having dental surgery to remove his front incisors.

Jemma was rescued from the euthanasia list two summers ago through Ashley’s Little Rabbit Rescue. I BEGGED Ashley we had to make room for just one more bunny - as she didn’t even have a name and we couldn’t let her die without a name. A very generous donor from the UK sent us a large sum of money to be able to save 10 bunnies from this round of the list - so we let him name them all and the name stuck!

I bonded these two last summer after having them both as fosters for about 6 months and that sealed their fate as mine 🥰

Now that you’ve been introduced, I’m sure you will start seeing a lot more of them on the page. 🥰

It is with a heavy heart, that I let you all know that I lost my sweet Chewie girl two days ago.

She is now reunited with Atlas in heaven. My heart is heavy and it’s opened some old wounds from losing my sweet Atlas, as well this marks the 5th pet loss in my household for 2025 and it’s become a little unbearable.

These two were my first ever pets; my heart buns. I will forever be grateful for everything they taught me.

Thank you to my Barrhaven clients who graciously accepted the last minute cancellation last night as I was not feeling up to doing the run just yet.

I also realize I have some emails and messages I have not yet responded to but I’m allowing myself to take the time I need. I intend to try and catch up on this after this weekend.

Thank you so much for your patience and kindness during this time. I truly do have the most amazing and understanding clients.

Surprise- I started a new full time job today!

While I get used to my new role, commitments and back into a full time work life + the bnb as a side hustle it will take a bit of adjustment.

Thank you for your understanding!

*Mobile grooming is still happening, I just will resume 5pm-8pm evening grooming hours or weekends.

It’s a hot one out there in Ottawa (and I’m sure other places too)!

As we enter this heat wave, here are some tips to help your bunny cool down if you don’t have air conditioning.

For those who have guests with us now, or will this summer the bnb is fully cooled via its own window AC unit so everyone is nice a chilled!

Fun Fact: Rabbits regulate their temperature through the blood in their ears! Their blood vessels expand to allow more blood into them and this cooled down blood is then circulated throughout the body, lowering overall temperature.

Stay cool! 🧊 😎
