💔 We Need Your Help — Our Dogs Are Counting on Us 💔

Our rescue is facing an incredibly difficult moment.

On the heels of two major medical cases — Matrix and Buddy who required a combined $30,900 of veterinary care— we have now incurred an unexpected $12,067.73 in expenses related to our recent distemper cases. The emotional toll has been heavy… but the financial strain is now overwhelming.

Right now, we cannot intake new dogs.

And that is devastating.

Dogs are waiting, like this sweet girl. They need safety. They need medical care. They need a second chance. But until we clear these medical bills and stabilize financially, we simply cannot say yes.

Every dollar donated goes directly toward:
• Paying down our outstanding veterinary bills
• Covering distemper-related treatment costs
• Allowing us to reopen intake and save more lives

We know times are hard for everyone. If you can donate — any amount helps. If you can’t, please consider sharing this post. Sharing saves lives too.

We have never turned our backs on dogs in need. And with your help, we won’t have to start now.

Please help us get back to doing what we are here to do — saving dogs.

🐾 Donate today - etransfers [email protected]
🐾 Support a fundraiser - MacMillans or the Barkuterie Box
🐾 Share this post.
🐾 Help us help them.

From all of us — and the dogs who are still waiting like this one pictured below— thank you. ❤️

Trapping an abandoned or feral cat? Make sure you read this first!

Cat trapping is described as a humane technique where outdoor kitties are caught in a live trap (typically a wire mesh or wooden cage that uses a spring-loaded door triggered by a treadle plate) which is safe and painless.

It is not uncommon for individuals to trap a cat in an attempt to help it, however if there are no plans in place, this can result in a stressful and frustrating experience. With a little preparation, you can make trapping safe, smooth, and successful for both you and the cat.

Tips to keep in mind before trapping

⛑️ Use a trap that is safe for the cat and research ahead of time how to set it up and how to handle it once the cat is inside

👀 Make sure you have someone monitoring the trap regularly. Do not leave trap unattended for long period of times (important to factor in the weather and temperature)

📅 Secure a clinic appointment before setting the trap. Plan to trap the night before or morning of the appointment

🏠 Have a safe holding space arranged in advance. If you cannot provide a safe shelter in your home, having a backup plan such as a trusted friend or family member who can temporarily care for the cat makes a big difference

🚗 Make sure you have transportation ready

🐟 Stock up on cat food, litter, and supplies if the cat(s) will be temporarily in your home

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...

🤝 Connect with rescues in advance to see who has space and when they’d be able to take the cat. It's important to remember that rescues don't have facilities, and foster homes get filled up quickly, therefore a lot of planning goes into housing a cat.

If you do not have a plan in place, please do NOT proceed with the trapping. It could result in a traumatizing and dangerous situation for the cat despite your best intentions.

By planning ahead and working together, we can make sure every cat is cared for safely and humanely!
