After 628 days in our care… Caramel is finally home 🤍

Caramel came to us with a cage mate and lice, and quickly showed us his very strong personality. Unfortunately, that meant he and his original buddy had to be separated, and we were told he may never be able to bond again.

He watched his original cage mate get adopted… and over time, watched so many other pigs at the rescue find their perfect matches and forever homes. Meanwhile, Caramel kept waiting, not for a cage mate, but just a neighbour.

Finding the right home wasn’t easy… but we never gave up on him.

After rescuing 12 pigs from a hoarding situation mid-April, something amazing happened, Caramel met Camper, a baby boy who was the perfect match for him. Against the odds, they bonded 💛

And this past Saturday, both Caramel and Camper were adopted into a loving home.

628 days later, Caramel got the ending he deserved. The wait was worth it.

Twilight (6) and Peanut (1.5) are a sweet bonded pair looking for a home together 🔮💜

Twilight is a spunky senior with some ongoing health needs. She’s still eating well and full of personality, but would benefit from a home comfortable giving daily critical care to help maintain her weight.

Peanut is her steady companion, and they do best together.

If you’re open to a special pair and can provide a little extra care, they could be a great fit.🐹🐹

We are beyond grateful to our incredible volunteers who stepped up to help in a recent animal hoarding rescue 💛

Because of their compassion and quick action, 12 guinea pigs were safely brought into our care. This included 3 pregnant moms, 2 dads, 4 baby girls, and 3 baby boys. On top of that, they were also able to secure 2 chinchillas, who are now safe with we are so thankful for their support!

Since then, things have been very busy behind the scenes. We’ve been focusing on getting these new intakes settled, finding foster homes, and continuing to move forward with adoptions for the guinea pigs already in our care. We sincerely apologize if you’ve experienced any delays - we appreciate your patience more than you know.

There’s already been some exciting news! One of the moms, now named Miley, gave birth last night to two beautiful babies, bringing the total number of lives rescued so far to 16… and we are still waiting on two more moms to welcome their little ones.

A huge thank you to our amazing foster families, thanks to you, 9 guinea pigs are already in foster homes, and we will be reaching out soon to others who have expressed interest in fostering.

It truly takes a village. To our volunteers, fosters, and supporters - thank you for showing up and making this rescue possible. These animals now have a chance because of you 🐹🤎

We don’t typically like to make posts like this but after the weekend we had, it was necessary to start asking for help….

We’ve had a number of flooding incidents at the rescue, caused by the constant amount of laundry we do daily. This past Saturday, we experienced another major flood💔
Thankfully, all of our pigs are safe and completely unaffected. 🐹💛

It’s become clear that our current washer and dryer just can’t keep up with the demand. We’re hoping to upgrade to machines that can handle the volume of laundry needed to keep everything clean, dry, and safe for the pigs.

We’re asking for your support to help make this upgrade possible. Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to us and directly support the care of the pigs at the rescue.

These two sweet boys have officially started their next chapter together, and we couldn’t be happier for them. Watching them head off to a loving family who will spoil them with veggies, cuddles, and cozy naps is exactly what we hope for every pig that comes through our rescue 💕🥕
