After nearly 4 years of servicing my community, and much time spent deliberating my decision, Maddi’s Stay Inn will be permanently closing as of April 2026. ALL confirmed bookings, even those beyond April 2026, will still be honoured, of course.
Owning and operating my own little business has been one of my greatest joys and accomplishments to date. I am so thankful to have gotten the privilege to be welcomed into my clients homes and connect so intimately with their pets. I have an endless amount of experiences and memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. I am incredibly proud of the work I have done and the care I have provided.
There was one rule I told myself I’d remain faithful to when I started Maddi’s Stay Inn: the minute that my own dog’s health took a turn for the worse, it would be time to stop. Timber has been on somewhat of a health journey since about mid-August 2025, when I noticed that his drinking was increasing. Many inconclusive tests later, all that we know for sure is that he is anemic and very thirsty. It is somewhat of a mystery as we “wait and see” what comes of this. He is currently well managed, and I am optimistic that we still have many good days ahead of us… But it is important at this point that I am present to enjoy these good days. I am grateful to know that you all understand me when I say that frankly, there is no amount of anything that can take me away from my time left with Timber, who just turned 13. This is how I know that it is time to end my operations through Maddi’s Stay Inn. It is time for me to stay home and focus my top tier care towards one of my own.
There are not enough thank-you’s in the world to express my gratitude towards everyone who has supported me, directly or indirectly, over the years. I hope that I continue to run into all my favourite friends (canine and human) out and about in the world. Please never hesitate to give me updates, as I will miss everyone so much.
