Let's give a huge, warm welcome to Levi and Legend!! These sweet boys arrived from Barbados on August 21st and have been settling in well with their respective foster families. Word on the street is that Levi is quite the affectionate lad while Legend is an absolute goofball 😜

Joey, previously Clifford, found his forever home over TWO years ago and we are so excited to share an update on how he has been doing. Let's hear from his pawrents:

"I can’t believe it’s been two years of Joey 💕

I named him Joey because he looks like a baby kangaroo but the more he grows into his personality. I’m thinking he’s like Joey from Friends……. “ How you doin “

He loves everybody, so looks forward to his walks with his dog buddies, Kevin, Molly and Mija at BowsernBuds, doesn’t even look back at me when Crystal our Dog Walker comes to pick him up.

We all love him, he is definitely part of our pack and is especially loved by the cat Freya but she does tend to boss  him about a teeny bit!"

Our pack is ready to grow a bit more at Canine Haven - we're looking for new volunteers, across a few different roles at the rescue, including our Foster Support Team, Patreon, and TikTok.

This role includes regular check-ins and supports coordination for our foster families as our rescue dogs decompress, settle, and prepare for their forever homes.

While originally from Barbados, I'm ready to find my Canadian forever family to watch hockey (and snuggle!), eat timbits, and experience snow for the first time with. I love toys, exploring, and zooming around, and enjoy cuddles, but on my own personal terms (I wouldn't be a true Chi if not!). 🌴🌴 Welcome, Saul and Kala 🍁🍁

Let's give a big Canadian welcome to Saul, arrived August 12, and Kala, arrived August 8, from Barbados. Both pups are settling in wonderfully with their respective foster families. We hear that Saul's favorite activities include playing fetch and keeping cool in his kiddie pool. Word on the street is that Kala is the ultimate cuddle buddy!

Diesel found his forever home over two years ago and has been living the good life with his pawrents. Lets get an update from his FURever fam:

"Diesel is doing great! His excitement for life bring me constant joy. His endless energy and 100% commitment to everything he does, playing fetch, soccer, swimming, or hiking, just makes me smile.

He is a special dog. It’s hard to capture him well on camera because he constantly moving."

Knox’s Dental Update ♥️🐾

Knox had his dental surgery, and both of his badly broken upper canines were successfully removed. ♥️

We’re so happy to share that he has been recovering incredibly well! In just 24 hours, our goofy, joyful boy was already back to his happy self. 🥰

He’s taking all of his medications like a champ, eating with his usual enthusiasm, and—most importantly—seems so much more comfortable. Seeing his personality shine again has been such a relief and a beautiful reminder of how resilient our sweet boy is. ♥️

We’re incredibly grateful for his wonderful recovery and so thankful to everyone who has been thinking of Knox, supporting him, and cheering him on. 🐾♥️

The surgery cost came to $1134.97. We had collected $1459.06 which now leaves $324.09 + additional donations via our current Gofundme of $121.00 for a total of $445.00 towards Sonny's surgery scheduled for September 16, 2026.
