Barks & Bubbles Professional Dog Grooming Unfortunately, we are closed permanently. The owner lost both legs and can no longer run the business but grab a follow and follow along to see her progress.

Ask for either contact info Barks & Bubbles has taken over Hollywoofs Pet Spaw. We renovated the shop and made it into our home like buisness. The environment is very quiet, cages are not used unless the dog is aggressive. We treat the animals as if they were ours, playing with them, giving them treats, we leave beds out for them.

the groom includes a bath, anals done, dry, fluffed, dematted, nails clipped, ears cleaned, and their hair cut. When we have a dog that is scared or very fussy about certain things we take extra care and take our time so the dog doesnt feel pressured. We have a few cages that are set up so that if the dog is scared of the dryer or bites the dryer they can have a little break in the cage with the dryer on low blowing into the cage so it circulates around them and helps dry them up. We try not to use muzzles on the dogs as it can make them more upset in the long run. If a dog is fussy for its nails there is two of us so one can hold the dog if its little or one can talk to the dog if its big and distract it. As i said before when the dogs are done if theyre all nice with other dogs we put them on the floor to run around and play, we take them outside for a little walk to go p*e or p**p. There is only two of us so its not very busy, it stays fairly calm so the dogs dont get stressed out

Theresa= bather/dryer/groomers assistant for almost 13 years.. soon to be looking into taking the sc******ng course. We both have learned how to work with hard to handle dogs that can be aggressive so that is not usually a problem for us. We also specialize in grooming cats as well. The grooms for any animal all depends on the size and the amount of work that has to be done. When you're not a regular and dont want a groom and just want nails done its only $10/small dogs, $20/lrg. A face tidy is usually starts around $10 depending on if we just do the face tidy or the nails, bum, etc. Once you become a regular rebooking client you then get face tidys, nail trimmings and anals checked free of charge and come in any time we are open. we do alot of walk ins but due to covid prefer to book you an appointment and keep you on a rebooking schedule so that your dog stays clean and happy

Hi everyone, if you haven't hop over and like Theresa's new business.
Unfortunately she's off right now. She broke her foot in 2 places. The one spot may need surgery. We find out all the details next week but in the mean time even if you can't drive to her to get groomed. The love and support would be absolutely amazing.
Shes had to close up for a few weeks to work on recovering but she will be back on her feet.
Let's show her all the love and support we can even if it's only through social media.

Hi Everyone. I know Theresa Priester, my daughter has been trying to keep Everyone updated .....
I keep trying everyday, and Everyday is a new step. I've had a hard journey, I won't deny that.
So Eric Graham from DP&O has worked with me since the beginning. Yes he's made my sockets and I tried several knees in the right AKA. And he's been working with my left BKA. Still working on getting both legs on and working. My right AKA has and is giving me grief . Shirlene my physiotherapist has been and still is great with me. She works with other clients at DP&O down on McEwen off Wentworth in Whitby. So it stands that I've been off my right leg, still using the left limb. .
I'd like to Thank Everyone for the support. ☺️💞💞❤️

As you know we are closed permanently but I really wanted to share Theresa's post on her Buds & Bubbles Pet Spaw page.

Happy Monday.
This is a love hate time of year.
We love the spring and beautiful weather
BUT
We've all heard April 1st everything goes up.
This also means grooming salons, hair dressers and many other similar jobs will be raising their prices.
We know first hand that it's hard financially. We understand when you hear your sh*tzu is anywhere from $70-$100 it sounds outrageous.
WE GET IT!!!!
BUT our prices for products go up, sharpening our blades scissors, cleaning them with special cleaner and oil everyday, cleaning products so your pets don't get sick, shampoos, conditioners, rent, bills, and many other expenses a business has.
NOW
Top that off with we also need to make money for ourselves in order to eat, pay our rent at home, bills and other home expenses.

If we kept our prices the same at a low price we will literally only make the cost to cover all our maintenance at work and we would loose our homes or we would use the money for our homes and loose our business.
We don't want either of that happening and I'm sure you don't either.

We don't raise our prices to purposely gouge your pockets.
We raise our prices to survive too.
Commercial rent is not as cheap as a home at times. Also commercial can be raised anytime.

Please be kind to your groomers and know that they are only raising prices because they are struggling just as much as you are.

April 1st will not be our favorite day but prices will increase everywhere.

We've still had many clients that I know have been following our page texting and messaging for appointments.

Our OSHAWA location Is permanently CLOSED.

I know this is extremely upsetting for some. We do apologize that this is very inconvenient for a lot of people.
We did post on here several times and leave a message on our voice-mail that we were closing.

If you know us well, my mom(sandy) owns the business.
Over christmas holidays she ended up needed her other lower leg and foot amputated. This means she has no feet, and needs to learn how to walk all over again.
She could not manage the shop and take care of herself.
It was an extremely difficult situation and choice.

Jane and I(Theresa) are still working full time as groomers. We love our Job so this didn't hold us back from figuring out our new journey.

Jane Is working at a new location. It's about a 20 minute drive.

I(Theresa) am in oshawa every Friday and Sunday almost. I am offering nail trims as well. I will come to you, if we need 2 people I have helpers as I was training my daughters the last few years too.

It has been an extremely tough time for her having to close the business and no income coming in. She really could use all the help she can get at this point. Our family has struggled and is struggling but wile will pull through. We know it takes time and patience ❤️❤️❤️

We want you all to know that we still miss each and every one of you.
I'm sure a lot of you have figured out over time that we are closed permanently in oshawa and the shop is already been ripped up and renovated into something else.

Our family has been through some crazy ups and downs.
If you're a long time client then you know how hard these last few years have been.
I understand a lot of people may not be able to donate. But please share around.
If you're new here. Long story short, my mom(owner of barks and bubbles) left work August 2022 on her motorcycle and was cut off by a pick up truck. She almost didn't make it, and lost her right leg.
Fast forward to December 2023, she had several blood clots and they just couldn't save her foot. Now she has lost her other lower leg and foot.
Yes, we are taking it to court and fighting but it does take a long time. During this time we thought in the beginning we could handle things but expenses add up fast. My mom and I both struggling to keep up as we help each other. We've had so many clients and friends mention about go fund me. That maybe there are people out there that hear our story and will be willing to help. Here is our go fund me link.

Well we gotta say thanks for the support.
Barks & Bubbles Professional Dog Grooming is officially closed. We are sorry we had to close. We'll miss our clients. I Sandy will not be making it back to grooming. Time to heal is what I need to concentrate on.
Theresa and Jane are still grooming but in their own places..which is already been posted about staying with them.
My # is on a few posts if you'd like to come out and visit. Just let me know. We love you all.
