Canadiana Tollers

Canadiana Tollers Canadiana Tollers was a hobby based kennel that focused on producing high quality Tollers. Canadiana Tollers is no longer breeding.

Our priority was health and temperament, while preserving breed type and versatility. Our breeding program was established around our foundation bitch BOSSR Ch Kalmegess’ Lua with Brighteyes WC (January 28, 2009-November 19, 2020). We competed in numerous confirmation, field, and obedience events, as well as participated in advanced agility, rally obedience, and therapy dog training.

“Lua“
BOSSR Ch Kalmegess’ Lua with Brighteyes WC
January 28, 2009 - November 19, 2020

Lua was put to rest Thursday afternoon. She was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive cancer. Despite the devastating nature of this disease, Lua remained happy, calm, and comfortable through to her last breath.

During her 11 years, Lua completed advanced obedience, agility, rally-o, and therapy dog training. She got her Canadian Championship and qualified for her Working Certificate. She had two litters and has lots of grand puppies and great grand puppies. Through all this, she was my pet, friend, companion, travelling partner, teammate, teacher, business partner, and confidant. Even more, she supported myself and my family members during the good times and the bad. She brought me back to life after several hard episodes of depression, encouraged me to try new things, made my family feel safe, opened the door to new friendships, and brought joy to so many people. She was adaptable, reliable, and consistent... at least for the most part. She gave me confidence. She comforted, grounded, and humbled me many times. Lua was whatever we needed when we needed it. For that, I am forever grateful. Lua is my heart dog and I will love her until the end of time.

Thank you Terri and Mike for entrusting this special, one-of-a-kind dog to me and my family. She came at just the right time and made our lives better. She was a valued member of our family and we will never forget her. And thank you to everyone else who has been a part of Lua’s journey. All of you helped shape her into the dog of my dreams. I hope she made you smile and made you laugh.
Lua, thank you for saving me. I miss you so much. You were the best dog. I will love you forever.

Happy 6th birthday to Canadiana’s first litter, the Forestry Litter (Solo x Lua)! I am so fortunate to have had the experience of working alongside Terri Weldon-Newey (of Kalmegess Kennels) and Kathy Adorjan (of Katyra Kennels) to make this litter possible. And can’t forget a special shout out to Cranberry Hill Animal Hospital for all the support along the way. Wishing these pups (now dogs) another 6+ years of happiness, love, health, and treats!

Much love from Emily, Lua, and the Davison family!

Happy fourth birthday to the Forestry Litter (Solo x Lua): Tuzo, Abby, Birchie, Denver, and Ally! You have brought a lot joy and happiness to people's lives, including my own.

To this day, this litter is one of my biggest accomplishments! I'm so proud of how great they all turned out.

Lots of hugs and kisses from me and mama (now 2nd time grandma) Lua!

Lua had a fun weekend with her son, Chandos (Jumper x Lua). It's always nice to see the dogs play and make snow angels together. I wonder if this experience will help me convince my parents that we need another Toller?
