As all the beautiful tributes to Dolly come out, many of us are just learning about the incredible reading program she created to put books into the hands of children.

In my heart of hearts, I believe Dolly Parton would have adopted this book into her program because of what it stands for:

Kindness.
Compassion.
Love.
Community.

Messages that inspire children that even the smallest act of caring can change a life, because that is who Dolly was.

She lived her values, wore her heart on her sleeve and shared these messages with the world. And the fact that this book is a true story, yes, she would have taken it under her wing, I just know it. 💓

Thank you, Dolly, for the legacy you leave behind.

When love leads, the impossible becomes possible.
Your story and ours, is living proof even after death.

On , it feels pretty special knowing this little beach dog has become one of the faces of Jamaican dog rescue through her book. 🇯🇲🐾

Marley’s story has travelled from Jamaica to Japan, Portugal, England, Scotland, Canada and the USA—and those are just the places we know about!

One of the most meaningful parts of sharing Marley’s book has been hearing that people see so much more than the beautiful illustrations by Laura Watson and the rescue of one little puppy.

They see the people who showed up.
They feel the kindness.
And they see how one small act can ripple farther than we ever imagined.

That is exactly why I wrote this book.

I had a front-row seat watching this story unfold before my eyes. I witnessed the lessons that came from these events, and knew this story needed to be told.

And today, we’re starting with piggy. 🐷❤️
