Foster/adopter wanted
***Glacier is starting to get stressed from being in a kennel.
Their adoption fee has been sponsored by their dad's family who are sad they have not found a family yet***

Glacier and Fluri are a bonded pair. Their dad passed away unexpectedly on New Years Eve. Glacier was adopted from us 8 years ago as a puppy. He is a 106 pound great pyrenees. His side kick Fluri is a 7 year old golden retriever/great pyrenees mix. She weighs 96 # and as sweet as can be. Both dogs are in excellent health other than maybe needing to shed a few pounds. The pair do great on a leash, are house broken and actually come when called which if you know a pyr, most refuse to come in during the cold months. These dogs will only be adopted together. They are couch potatos who love to be loved on and go for car rides and walks. They really enjoy spending time outside so a fenced yard is a must. They are nice, nice dogs that were the pride and joy of their dad. THE ADOPTION FEE IS SPONSORED FOR THE PAIR to an appropriate, approved home. They are spayed and neutered and up to date on vaccines. They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash. You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries. River’s surgery is in 2 days. She is very excited but a little nervous. She is happy she gets to come home the same day. Thank you everyone who has helped out. As anyone with a dog who has had knee problems knows it is very debilitating and painful. She looks so depressed watching everyone else have fun and pays dearly when she tries to play anyway. It is a shame it is so expensive to get it repaired. Almost none of the pet insurance companies cover knees and even when they do most often they will cover the first one but not the second.

River is so excited her surgery date is getting closer and the weather is getting better. She is very jealous that Brandi gets to go on walks, runs and bike rides with Dad. She tells me every time they leave that she can do it to once her knee is fixed.

I will be honest here she really does look very sad and disappointed. It is heart breaking to keep telling her to wait in the house while they go off to have fun. We even have to hold her back in the yard when John Reed is playing with Luke and Brandi. She does not understand why we keep telling her no. She looks at us as if we are punishing her but she does not know what she did wrong. My heart breaks every time I have to say no River or wait River or slow down River. Even with all the no’s she is still excited to see us every time we enter a room.

This is the real reason we are asking for help. We could have waited another 6 months or a year and been able to do this ourselves, but 6 month to a year is a very long time to a dog. River deserves better. River did not ask for bad knees she did not ask for a pandemic to create upheaval for us financially. She is however loving Dad’s work from home and Mom’s part time( I just need a job any job) schedule.

Brandi enjoying some time with the cat (Riley) on the deck. Brandi has been with us for a week. She is coming along really well with her social skills and training. She has even won over the big guy.
