Four weeks may sound like a long time to keep Bali separated from the rest of the cattery… but protecting the health of our cats will always come before rushing introductions 💙 Bali is currently 2.5 weeks into quarantine and looking healthy as can be, but even when a new cat appears perfectly healthy, travel, stress, and environmental changes can sometimes bring out symptoms that were not visible before, and some illnesses can take time to show themselves.
Quarantine gives us time to monitor for things like sneezing, eye irritation, digestive upset, or other subtle changes before exposing our kittens, mamas, and adult cats. It may seem overly cautious to some people, but prevention matters so much in a breeding program. This is also why we ask our adopters to quarantine new kittens when they have other cats at home. We practice what we preach here 💙 A few weeks of patience is always worth helping protect the health of everyone involved.
