Denis Sweeney has been a professional working under Wayne McLellan since 2013. He has extensive experience showing and training horses and riders from the grassroots levels through to the highest levels of the sport in Canada and the United States. Most recently, Denis was the Eastern Canadian Combined Working Hunter Champion, Pre-Green Champion, and Performance Hunter Champion at the 2023 finals.
Denis currently works alongside Wayne McLellan at WGM Stables, where they train between 30 and 40 horses. Their clients range from cross-rail riders and developing junior and amateur hunters and jumpers to riders competing in the big equitation divisions.

It was a sad day at HGF today as our king of the farm Ollie sadly passed away. Ollie was the OG of the barn and I’m so lucky to have got to have the pleasure of being his person for the last 2 years. He was always the first one to greet everyone the second they came to the farm. He loved a hug and always wanted to climb up you to get as close as he could for the snuggle. He was always present to supervise rides in the indoor ring and be the first to sit on your lap the moment he seized the opportunity. My heart it hurt today as the barn doesn’t feel the same without his big presence. I’m glad that he is no longer in pain and that he rest in peace now on the farm🤍🤍.

HGF had an incredible two weeks at Caledon Equestrian Park! I’m so grateful to be part of such a supportive and caring team. We’ve had our share of ups and downs over the past couple of weeks, and I couldn’t be prouder of everything we accomplished together.
Great job to everyone! And a huge thank you to the team at D.J. Murtagh for all of your help over the last two weeks. We truly appreciate your support and expertise.
Now… time for us to do some homework! 🐴

Hello all my Our little barn out in Madoc is having Balanced Bay: Equine Nutrition Consulting out on Saturday June 20th for a few hours!

We are opening it up to outside people who might like to come and learn more about equine nutrition and how to best help your equine partners! You can also get to see her do her assessments on some of our lovely in-barn horses as well!

I will be there as well so please let me know if you'd like to come out and I'll connect with you about joining. Its a GREAT opportunity to join us for a few hours of learning, fun, and food (because you KNOW we always have food at events lol)

I just wanted to take a moment today to give A HUGE congratulations to Ryanne Reed and Dennis for winning the $150 gift certificate donated by Soteria Solutions during the Hunter Derby clinic with .dionisio_ last Sunday!

I can't wait to come out and do your session and help him find even more relaxation and joy! It was lovely to see how far you have come, and I am looking forward to watching you continue to build on the successes so far!
