My books are officially ⚠️C L O S E D⚠️ for custom orders for a much needed braiding break while I work on something special for y'all 🫶

I cannot thank all of you enough for the support and trusting me with creating custom pieces for you & your horses, it means so so much to me.

I don't foresee this being a long break from customs, I just need a minute to get caught up in my world outside of the braiding sector of Lazy D Design Co.

Rounding out this years team of Lazy Cowgirls is none other than barrels racer & breakaway roper .anne.chadwick and her partner in crime, Willie!

My name is Alyssa Chadwick. Throughout the last 5 years, I’ve dedicated my whole life to climbing up the leaderboard self funding myself the whole way. In and outside the arena, I strive to better myself, set goals and find ways to improve in every aspect. I find myself constantly working on my mindset, my horses health, fitness and our partnership.

This year I’ve attained my BCRA card and will be competing as a rookie at 11 rodeos all over British Colombia. I plan to compete in the team roping, breakaway roping, and Barrel racing, on my horse Willie. Since last summer, I’ve gotten the blessing to call him mine. From the start he has tried so incredibly hard and made it easy for me to self train him in every event we compete in.
I’m so incredibly great full for sponsors such as Lazy D Design Co, they have supported me for the last two years. With their help, it’s made it possible for me to perform at my very best with the help of their top tier products. I’m so excited for the opportunity to represent such a successful brand and can’t wait to see what 2026 holds!

Introducing Jaiden Moat! My youngest sponsor this year, I am so excited to see how this awesome team do over the season.

Jaiden's Story:
I started riding horses at the age of five, I got my first horse of my own (M&M) at age 8, he was a 15.1hh paint gelding. I later got my heart horse, Star, he was a grey 14hh Welsh cross with cushing’s disease and was a rescue. Star allowed me to trot around the barrels in the pasture we eventually entered our first barrel race in Osoyoos, BC our time was a 32.4, I was super proud of him.

When I was 12 I got my first actual barrel horse Jiggs, a dark bay appendix mare. She was 25 years old when we got her, I only rode her for one season, she taught me alot.

At age 13 I took a really big step up to a 19 year old seasoned appendix mare who is 16.2hh, Tuff is a Sorrel mare that goes back to Secretariat & Bold Ruckus. She has helped me become more competitive and confident. When we first got Tuff she was a lot bigger then we thought and she was very intimidating. She has shown me that trying bigger things can be scary, but they are worth it. Like when we went to the Big Bang Barrel Race for the first time, it was scary and one of the biggest races I’ve been to but she showed me its okay to be scared and that we can trust each other.

Where my interest started:

I got my interest in barrel racing from seeing videos of barrel racing online while I was trying to get better at riding.

Accomplishments:

Some of my accomplishments include 2023 Junior Champion, Osoyoos, 2024 Junior Champion Chevaliers Winter series, 2024 PeachLand Riding Club open 3D Champion, 2025 PRC Junior barrels reserve, 2025 KGC Junior 2nd place and qualified winner of Russo Auto Sales Saddle.

Last year I was able to sponsor one ambitious young cowgirl, this year I am honored to sponsor three amazing girls. I cannot wait to see how these girls and their horses grow with eachother over the course of the season!

Without further ado, meet Kiena & her firebreather, Bits!

My name is Kiena, and horses have always been a huge part of my life. I’m constantly working to grow as a rider and a competitor. This season, I’ll be competing on my one-eyed AQHA mare, “Poco N Lena Twobits,” also known as Bits. Bits is incredibly special to me because she is the first horse I’ve ever purchased myself, which makes every run we make together that much more meaningful.

While being in school to be a Registered Veterinary Technician, I also work at Peach City Animal Hospital and Total Pet in Penticton. Balancing work, school, and rodeo has strengthened my dedication and work ethic, both in and out of the arena.

We’ll be competing in barrel racing and pole bending this season. One of my main goals is to build more consistency and confidence as a team. Bits isn’t just my competition horse — she’s my partner. Whether it’s early mornings or late nights, every moment is worth it.

I’m extremely grateful and proud to represent Lazy D Design Co. during the 2026 season, and I can’t wait to see what this year holds.

✨️Meet the Maker✨️

For those of you who don't know me, hi! I'm Dakota, the braider behind Lazy D Design Co.

I've called the sunny Okanagan home for the past 15 years, and have always, always had horses. I work full-time in hospitality, own a small business that is just in it's fledgling stage, and braid as a creative outlet.
I started braiding to keep my hands busy & my creativity flowing during the slow winter season. It combines my two great loves, horses & making with my hands. I make most of my tack to order, which means that it's fully customizable to suit each riders taste and personality. I have to say, those first talks of color combinations and vibe checks, that's my favorite part, next to seeing my pieces in action, of course.

This year was full of HUGE wins, not only did I enter the barrel pen on the horse that I raised, but I also had the opportunity to sponsor a real up and comer cowgirl. I can't express what it means to watch all of my fly into that arena with a fist full of mane & RacerReins. All of the proceeds from Lazy D tack go directly to my horses, whether it's entry fees, board or feed. All of your support, every order placed, every penny spent, it's all for them, and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I am so excited for what 2026 has in store for not only Lazy D Design, but my fellow horse lovers & my Lazy Cowgirls following their dreams both in and out of the arena.
