Happy Birthday Moonbeam. 22 years ago you and your two sisters were the first recorded bison triplet heifers born. Your photos and video went around the world in print and on tv. We bottle raised you and your sister Moon Shine. You are now the oldest bison cow on Buffalo Horn Ranch and if you have a calf this spring, which we hope you will, that will be 20 calves that you gave birth to and raised. Good Job.

First calf of the season born today. She is a granddaughter of Nakimu who gave birth to the first known set of bison heifer triplets in 1999. News of this event went around the world in the printed press, radio and tv. One of the bottle raised triplets, Moonbeam, the aunt of this calf and half sister to this cow is still alive and we are awaiting her 20th calf. Nakimu, gave birth to a set of triplets and two sets of twins. The cow pictured here had twins last year. Great fertility in this bloodline. This beautiful calf and some of her sisters will be for sale this winter.

This “Black” Pure Plains Bison Bull is the result of decades of selective breeding. His sire Assiniboine has been one of our best breeding bulls for 15 years. His dam #619 is one of our best cows. Our bulls are raised on Pasture and not in a feedlot.
