Big Paw Spa Big Paw Spa is home of the Bernese Mountain Dog show groom and your puppies introduction to grooming I specialize in grooming Bernese.

I have been grooming Bernese for the dog show world several years now. I am also a Breeder of Bernese Mountain Dogs and know the importance of having your dog professionally groomed, especially your puppy. Your dog will be with me from the time they are dropped off to pick up. I don't place dogs in crates with dryers and leave them unattended. I dry each dog individually by hand with a forced air

professional dryer. Your dog needs to be comfortable in a grooming tub and on a grooming table, and comfortable with the dryer. If you believe your dog has grooming anxiety then I suggest you book your appointment on a Sunday when I can have an assistant present to ensure your dog doesn't injure itself. Choose the service based on your dogs age and grooming requirements. Message me if you have any questions.

Nothing better than grooming puppies!

Charlie’s first grooming is in the books! He nailed his tub and table manners, braved the blower, and got the full treatment—nails, ears, paw pads, and brush-out. He strutted out the door squeaky clean, extra fluffy, and smelling oh-so dreamy. 💕

This is Loki — a rescue Golden Retriever cross with a gentle, introverted soul. He can be a little cautious (and maybe just a tad suspicious) when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take long for him to warm up.

🌈 In Loving Memory of Sulley
July 2021 – August 2025

Heaven gained another Berner.

Beloved Sulley passed away last weekend after a sudden and aggressive battle with cancer. At just 4 ½ years old, he left us far too soon.

Sulley was a gentle soul with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He wasn’t the biggest fan of spa days—he made that very clear—but true to Berner form, he’d meet your coaxing with stubborn resistance… and then melt your heart with a face lick moments later.

Now free of pain, we like to think he’s romping through fields, nose in the air, tail wagging, and finally enjoying the ultimate spa day on his own terms.

Our condolences go out to Sulley's family for their great loss.

Rest easy, sweet boy. 🐾

Something curious is happening in the grooming salon lately… dog after dog has been coming in for heavy deshedding. Normally, this big coat change waits until much later in the season, but it seems our four-legged friends are already preparing for their winter wardrobe.

It’s a little early for such a big blowout, which makes me wonder—are they sensing an early, harsh winter ahead? I sure hope they’re wrong, but dogs have a way of knowing things long before we do…

A trip to the Alps… without leaving the grooming table! 🏔️
Yesterday’s guests were a couple sweet Saint Bernards who handled his blizzard of a deshedding session like true gentlemen. Hair floated down like snowflakes the whole time — I swear we could have made a winter wonderland out of it! ❄️
By the end, they both were a few pounds lighter and looking fabulous…I completely forgot to take photos 😞. Guess you’ll just have to imagine the majestic results! 🐾❤️

✨ Puppy’s First Spa Day ✨
Today, 7-month-old Rosie had her very first professional grooming! 🐶✂️ She was a little hesitant at first, but quickly settled in and was such a cooperative sweetheart. 💕

It’s always so rewarding to groom a puppy for the first time—watching them gain trust and enjoy the process. 🩷

The best part? She didn’t even mind the blower on her head to fluff up her crowning fro! 👑🐾
