We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the second Ojibwe Spirit Horse foal, a healthy and curious filly. She was born on Monday, May 25th. Her dam is Mandaamin (Mandy) and her sire is Babaaminizhikawaad (Chase).

Once again, we would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Grey Raven Ranch for the wonderful stud Chase, to Aurora Farms for entrusting us with the care of the Ojibwe mares, and to the Ojibwe Horse Society for their support. We are also grateful to all of the people and donors, including Recycling 4 Animals, who helped make this possible. Last but not least, thank you to the staff and Spirit Horse care team at Sagehill Stables who spend many hours looking after them, with special thanks to and .

The Ojibwe Spirit Horse is Canada’s only Indigenous horse breed. They are critically endangered, yet deeply valued for their resilience, intelligence, and cultural significance.

We look forward to welcoming the public to learn more about this special horse and to see the three sisters and the new foals in the coming months.

We’re so excited for Shasta as he begins a new chapter with his wonderful new family. He’s been such a special part of our Sagehill programs, teaching many students over the years. AND...We’re especially grateful that we’ll still get to see this amazing boy continue in our programming. How amazing does he look in his new gear!! Congrats Shasta and Glays Family!! 🍉❤️

Introducing Star! The sweetest horse you’ll ever meet, with a heart just as beautiful as she is. She is an absolute favorite with the kids because of her gentle personality, calm nature, and love for attention. It doesn't take her long to wander over and say hi no matter where she is. With her rider Star’s just as happy running barrels as she is taking a quiet, relaxing trail ride. She truly is the kind of horse that leaves a lasting impression with everyone she meets, come on down she's waiting for ya!

At Sagehill Stables, we offer safe and fun riding camp experiences that combine a love for horses, animals and the outdoors. Opportunities for kids to connect with farm life and animals is becoming more rare, which is why we have designed our day camps to provide horse riding lessons, learning horse and animal care, playing outdoor games and activities and getting crafty. Our experienced coaches and staff team are here to facilitate a positive learning environment and tailor the activities to the group.
Who: Beginner Riders, Post-Introductory, Novice & Intermediate level students
Ages: 6 to 13
​Dates: Weekly sessions in the months of July & August
Students will be split into groups for certain activities based on horse experience levels. More advanced students will learn more horse theory and have more advanced riding lessons, while beginner students will do crafts and beginner lessons!

We excited to announce NEW programming at Sagehill Stables, Rookie Riders!! We would like to thank Manitoba horse council for facilitating instructor certification and providing the equipment.

The Sagehill team is incredibly excited to introduce youth to the joys of equestrian sport through dynamic, fun-filled games and activities.
