Be kind to your veterinary staff! 💗 that includes everyone from the front desk to the doctor. 🩺
Can we get real & raw with you for a second? We most certainly understand there may be situations/circumstances that warrant your concern, especially when you receive bad news about a furry member of your family. 🐾 Please understand, the person on the other end does not want to give you bad news, or hand you a large bill, or tell you we need to do more tests. The majority of those that work in Veterinary medicine, are kind, knowledgeable, and are doing the best job they can. It is not easy. And many offices are currently understaffed and overwhelmed, especially in the North Bay/Nipissing area. 🏥
Vet staff can experience compassion fatigue, heartache, and sometimes do not have all the answers. It’s important to remember animals can’t speak for themselves so they rely on correct information from owners, or, they have to look further for solutions. We get great joy from seeing your pets healthy and giving you the good news, but we also often have to help owners on the worst day of their life.
is a movement that was started to raise awareness about the very sad reality that the veterinary profession has one of the highest su***de rates of any other profession.⚕️🐕
Seeing ill or sad animals regularly can take toll on the people who care for them, including you. Please, be nice to your vet, the vet office workers, and even the people who answer your phone call. Emotional burnout is widespread and we have to look out for each other.💞
In short, we have a no tolerance policy on harassing, abusive or aggressive behaviour. This includes yelling, using profanities and making threats to staff. We reserve the right to dismiss any client that does not respect this policy.
