Assisting Paws Class is back! 🐾 🐕‍🦺

Starting August 18th at 6:00 PM, Dog Geeks is offering a class focused on teaching dogs practical skills and tasks that strengthen the partnership between dog and handler.

This class is open to both pet dogs and service dogs and will explore a variety of skills, including behaviour interruption, retrievals, engagement, and other useful tasks.

In this video, Nico is working on a behaviour interruption task — learning to recognize a specific handler behaviour and offer a trained response.

Task training is a great way to build communication, confidence, and teamwork with your dog.

🎓🏆 A milestone moment for Dog Geeks and the future of our profession.

We are incredibly proud to share that our founder, Erin Young, has accepted the role of Director of Exam Development for the CBCC-KA® certification with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). 👏🏻

This opportunity reflects something that has always been at the heart of Dog Geeks: a commitment to continued education, professional growth, and raising the standards of our industry.

In a profession that remains largely unregulated, certifications play an important role in promoting accountability, ethical practice, and evidence-based approaches to supporting dogs and their families.
