Finishing touches went on to the portrait of Teagan the to join the trio of Hudson and Reya.

Teagan was re-homed with his current special human after the death of his owner, and the passing of her support dog, Reya. The both of them grieving the loss of their beloved companions, found each other and continue to rely on one another for love, support and trail walks in the Callander area! Thank you for sharing your stories of canine companionship 🥰and allowing me to honour your memories of them 🐾🤗❤️
I did struggle a bit with painting realistic snow on branches for the first time lol but really enjoyed the challenge of creating three completely different landscapes in different seasons and adding these 3 beautiful dogs to my portfolio!

The handsome Hudson is getting his army dog tags ❤️🎖️
My client wanted me to consider adding her dog’s names to their portraits.. so since she’s an army veteran and this boy was her steadfast companion and support while she did two tours in Afganastan I thought honoring her best friends with dog tags would be fitting! Thank you for your service 🤗🐾🐕
So far, I’ve also added the chain to Reya, her tags are coming soon! I let it free fall draped over her more of an adornment. Let me know what you think in the comments it’sa work in progress. She was a service dog in her own right working for the bringing joy to seniors right up to the end 😻🙏

Even after they’re gone, dogs and cats never really leave us. They stay in our hearts in the habits they taught us, the love they gave so freely, and the memories that still make us smile. Their loyalty and joy become a part of who we are. 🐾💙💜 🥹
This site and my studio is dedicated to Layla, and all the pets who have touched my life and have become part of my soul.
I feel privileged to be granted a gift that allows me to connect to the pets that I paint 🎨
When I see that spark in their eyes come to life it brings me immense joy. My hope is that I can share that joy with others who hold dear memories of their loved ones past and present and want a reminder of that special magic that only pets can give.
