Indeed.

Horsemanship doesn`t just "happen" to someone, like being sprinkled by fairy dust.

Real horsemen and horsewomen earn that designation by virtue of thousands of hours "in the trenches", learning the craft, grooming for more experienced riders (as in this photo of a Pan American Games gold medal winner in his younger years), doing whatever needs doing..

Don`t shirk hard manual labor, kids, or think that ANY aspect of horse care is somehow "below" that glorious creature that is you.

Because if that`s what you think, you may become a rider, but never a true horseman or horsewoman, who really understands the big picture. You will be limited, not the real deal.
