Well.
For those who wanted to know or made guesses... Here it is.
Miss Lucy is 100 % village dog.... But what does that mean?!?! If you're like me you probably didn't like that answer .... It's ok there's more
VILLAGE DOG TRACE BREED ANALYSIS
Village dogs often have short stretches of DNA that match purebred dogs, due to a distant common ancestor or a more recent mating between a purebred and a village dog. Lucy has short stretches of DNA in common with these breeds:
German Shepherd
American pitbull Terrier
And
Danish-Swedish farm dog
From day one I said pitty, terrior, sight hound and a little park of me was hoping Mali....
I'm not surprised with German Shepherd, agree with the American Pitbull terrior .... For the first time I was stumped.... Never heard of a Danish-Swedish farm dog before... And let me tell you!!! nail was hit on the head with this one... So many characteristics fit the bill.
This little good ball is probably the sweetest pup I've ever owned. With a very unique drive.
Why was knowing her breed so important??? Outside of curiosity I like knowing what breed(s) I'm working with because it helps clarify their strengths. Knowing things that the breed enjoys helps me give them their fullest lives. It's not a make or break part of training but some breed characteristics will.come out over time and I like when I know the whole puzzle.
