This week’s Question for Dr. Kate: Are mosquitos dangerous to our dogs? The answer is yes! Mosquitos are how heartworm is transmitted to our pets. When a mosquito bites an infected animal, like a coyote or dog, it can then carry the parasite to the next animal it bites. This is why it is important to keep our dogs on heartworm prevention between June and November. If you have any questions about prevention give us a call! 🦟❤️🐾
