🐴✨ A New Chapter for Riverbank! ✨🐴
After almost two full seasons of welcoming riders to Riverbank, I’ve realized one of my favourite parts isn’t just the trail ride itself.
It’s what happens before they get in the saddle and after they come out of the saddle.
We’ve always encouraged our guests to take the time to meet their horse, touch them, brush them, talk to them and simply spend some time connecting with their partner for the ride. Watching that bond happen has been one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
I’ve seen people light up, relax, smile and genuinely enjoy the experience of being close to these incredible animals. ❤️
After seeing firsthand how meaningful that connection can be, I decided to build on what we’ve already been doing at Riverbank and take it to the next level.
I’ve completed my online training, and next week I’m heading to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, for five days of hands-on training at a Standardbred farm as I continue my journey toward becoming an Equine-Assisted Personal Development Coach. 🐴
This next step will expand on the experience I’ve already gained working with our horses and guests, while giving me additional tools, activities and exercises to incorporate horses into experiences focused on connection, confidence, personal growth and overall wellbeing.
And this isn’t necessarily about having a particular challenge or disability. Sometimes you simply want a little time to slow down, spend time with a horse, build confidence, connect with an animal, or enjoy the incredible feeling of being around these amazing 1,000+ pound animals.
Maybe you want to work on personal growth.
Maybe you want to build confidence.
Maybe you simply LOVE horses and want more time with them.
Or maybe you’re just looking for a pretty great arm workout while brushing one of our big guys! 😂
Looking at the horses we have across both of our Riverbank locations, I already know there are several who could be amazing partners for this type of work — including one who already has experience in therapeutic programming.
The trail rides will always be a huge part of Riverbank, but I’m excited to expand what we can offer and discover another way our horses can bring connection, confidence and joy to people.
I can’t wait to bring this next chapter to Riverbank. ❤️🐴🌿
Stay tuned… something special is coming!
