Due to Christmas party’s, hockey games etc. there will not be any kids roping lessons (Saturday nights) in December.

If there’s any last minute cash donations for the Hambling family (prior to the holidays), please send them over before Sunday. I’ll be bringing Dennis a cheque on Monday to assist him and his family thru the Christmas holidays. So far we’re right around $5,000 just in cash dontions!

It sure was great to see all of the interest in the team roping at the first FCC rodeo with 12 teams entered up.

This Saturday November 29
I will be hosting a Kids Team Roping clinic at High River Ag.

5-7pm
$100 cash per kid
We’ll be starting on the smarty sled before roping slow, live cattle.

If you would like some help on the ground dummy, please be there by 4:30.

No need to pre-register, just show up ready to learn.

This evening from 5-7pm is kid's breakaway lessons at High River Ag. We'll be starting on the sled before roping live calves.
**THE CALVES WILL BE SLOWER AND BEGINNER FRIENDLY**
$100 each cash prior to roping. If there is a huge turnout, I'll rent the arena longer to make sure you get your money's worth.
Please make sure your HR Ag membership is current.
No need to pre-enter, just show up ready to learn.

Dates are confirmed and format is finalized. I just wanted to post the dates as early as possible to give the other producers time to plan around them (or over them).

Entry fees will be affordable
Minimum 70% cash payout
Saturday’s will be a #10.5
Sunday’s will be a #8.5

July 11-12 High River Ag ~

Oct 24-25 Claresholm Ag ~

More details will be announced in January (after the Dennis Hambling benefit roping).

I have a few small changes to announce regarding the Dennis Hambling Benefit Roping that is happening on New Years Eve at High River Ag.

1. We’re going to scrap the breakaway roping. Sorry, the benefit roping has been generating SO MUCH INTEREST with sponsors, donations and others wanting to help that I anticipate it being a huge turnout to support Dennis and his family. So we’re just going to roll with that. NO BREAKAWAY ROPING

2. Since posting my intentions of helping out Dennis and his family, my phone has been blowing up with support, it’s so great! I have set up a GoFundMe page that people can send financial support to.
I will bring Dennis a cheque with the November donations at the end of this month so the family is able to use the funds coming into this holiday season and then the remainder of donations/money raised after the roping is over (hopefully I set this page up properly, this is my first one I have created).

3. I will set up a silent auction for all of the donated items which will take place at the benefit roping on New Years Eve, so plan on coming down to High River. I will post a list of donated items as we get closer to December 31st.

Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to donate and I apologize if I haven’t got back to you yet, I have you wrote on my list. I will get this set up and it will make things a lot easier… Stay tuned for updates, please share like many of you have already been doing.

Let’s bring in the New Year doing something positive.

On December 31, 2025, ©️ Team Roping will be hosting a benefit roping for our good friend Dennis Hambling at the High River Ag.

As some of you may have heard, Dennis was recently diagnosed with throat cancer and is currently undergoing treatments. This is going to be a significant financial burden on Dennis and his young family as the treatments are preventing him from being able to work. Dennis is a great guy that I have had the privilege of knowing for almost 20 years. He’s a great father, husband & friend that does not deserve this hand he’s been dealt, but he will power through.

For those of you that do not know him, this past spring Dennis was the first person to call me and donate his points (from a saddle series that he was leading) to a young girl who recently lost her father. Dennis’ selfless act help this girl win the saddle in memory of her father (Rob Robinson) who had recently passed away unexpectedly. This is the kind of guy he is, let’s get together and show some support for Dennis now!

Dennis Hambling benefit roping format as follows:
-Enter at 5pm, rope no earlier than 6pm
- #11.5 slide (1 second per number added/subtracted on your first two runs. **max of 4 seconds added or subtracted** Short go is straight time)
-P1/D1 $150 enter up
-No caps
-Anyone can rope but you will need a Global membership for our computer to be able to run the roping and these can be purchased on site.
-2hd progressive with top 20 back for 3rd steer
-10% stock charge (to help cover arena rental, chute help, announcer etc.)
-40% of the pot - to the Hambling family
-50% of the pot - cash payout
