HAPPY VETERINARY TECHNICIAN MONTH!

This month, we’re celebrating our Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) and the incredible skills, knowledge, and compassion they bring to veterinary medicine every single day!

RVTs are so much more than an extra set of hands in the exam room. They are highly trained professionals who play an essential role in keeping our patients healthy, comfortable, and safe.

From the moment a patient walks through our doors, RVTs are there every step of the way!

Here are just some of the amazing things our RVTs do:
🩺 Assist with examinations and help monitor your pet’s health
💉 Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments
❤️ Monitor anesthesia and keep patients safe during surgery
🦷 Perform dental cleanings and take dental X-rays
🔬 Collect samples and perform laboratory testing
🩻 Take diagnostic X-rays and assist with imaging
🐾 Provide nursing care, pain management, and post-operative recovery support
🚨 Recognize changes in a patient’s condition and respond to emergencies
💚 Educate pet owners about nutrition, medications, preventative care, and recovery
🤗 Offer comfort, reassurance, and plenty of love to pets who may be scared or uncomfortable

Behind every successful surgery, every carefully monitored anesthetic, every comforting cuddle, and every wagging tail is a team of dedicated veterinary professionals working together.

RVTs combine technical expertise, critical thinking, attention to detail, and a whole lot of heart. They advocate for patients who can’t tell us how they feel and help ensure every animal receives the best possible care.

🐾 Cat care at home for the win! 🐱❤️

As an RVT, one of the most rewarding parts of providing in-home pet care is being able to meet cats where they feel safest — in the comfort of their own homes.

For many cats, avoiding the stress of travel, carriers, unfamiliar surroundings, and the veterinary clinic can make a meaningful difference in their overall experience.

In-home visits allow me to work at their pace, observe them in their familiar environment, and provide individualized care with an emphasis on low-stress handling, patience, and compassion.

Mobile RVT care is about more than convenience. It’s about building trust, supporting the human-animal bond, and helping pets receive the care they need in a way that respects their individual comfort and needs.

Because sometimes, the best place to care for a cat is right where they feel most at home. 🏡🐈

🐾 Happy Registered Veterinary Technologists Week! 🩺❤️

This week is about celebrating more than what RVTs do.

It’s about recognizing how far our profession has come,
the difference we make every day,
and the possibilities that lie ahead.

We are clinicians, educators, advocates, problem-solvers, mentors, and compassionate caregivers.
We support patients through their most vulnerable moments, help families navigate challenging decisions, and work alongside our veterinary colleagues to provide the best possible care.

Our profession continues to evolve, with expanding opportunities in specialized nursing, mobile services, in-home care, hospice and palliative support, rehabilitation, and client education.

There is so much to be proud of, and still so much potential to explore.

Let’s celebrate the knowledge, dedication, resilience, and compassion that RVTs bring to veterinary medicine.

Mobile Veterinary Nursing Is Unique

Mobile veterinary nursing requires an RVT to adapt their clinical skills to a variety of home environments and individual patient needs.

Resourcefulness: Making safe, practical decisions with the resources available.

Low-stress handling: Prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and emotional well-being.

Observation: Recognizing subtle changes in a patient’s health, behaviour, and comfort.

Client education: Providing clear guidance on treatments and ongoing home care.

Professional judgment: Recognizing limitations and knowing when veterinary intervention or referral is needed.

Safety awareness: Identifying and managing risks to patients, clients, and the RVT.

Flexibility: Adapting care to each patient and household while prioritizing patient welfare.

Ultimately, successful mobile veterinary nursing combines clinical expertise, compassion, adaptability, and sound judgment to provide individualized care for pets and their families.

respect for the human-animal bond.

I believe every patient deserves individualized care that considers their physical needs, emotional well-being, temperament, and home environment.
I strive to meet each patient and family where they are, adapting my approach to provide safe, low-stress, and practical care.

I value clear communication, professional integrity, reliability, and collaboration with veterinary teams.
I recognize the importance of respecting an owner's circumstances while advocating for the patient's welfare and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

My goal is to build lasting relationships through trust, consistency, and thoughtful care, helping pets remain as comfortable as possible in the place they know best: home.

-2 pets per client please!
-pets need to be safely contained (leash, carriers)
