Our Story
Dana Nielsen is the Owner, and head trainer at Lead Right. She has grown up with dogs and has a passion for all animals. Currently in a program to become a certified Equine and Canine Physiotherapist; she looks to not only train dogs but be able to help them physically as well.
Her journey to becoming a dog trainer began while reaching out for aggression training with her own dog. In doing so she met her mentor who saw she had a natural talent and understanding for canine behaviour. She soon began her apprenticeship with the animal behaviourist and specializing in aggression rehabilitation.
“I love being able to help a dog and owner create a real working relationship. We have so many owners coming to us feeling completely lost and helpless. Whether their dog is exhibiting aggressive behaviour, dragging them on the leash, barking constantly, or bouncing off the walls, it can be stressful - quite the opposite feeling people imagine when owning a dog. Above all I love being able to keep a dog from continuing down the wrong path to an often unfortunate end. I believe all dogs can be trained and rehabilitated- Its just about helping them understand what is expected of them and the role that they play in the family.”
