Hope you all are enjoying these beautiful spring days ☀️🌦️🌱
The days are warming up, but evenings still cool. Perfect for planting cool weather veggies, some flowers, herbs and perennials.
🌱on the farm stand We are offering now: 6 packs for $5 of Sugar snap peas, Green arrow shelling peas, Lettuce, Spinach, Nasturtiums, Sweet peas, calendula, Dill and Cilantro.
$8 pots of Monarda Didyma ( Beebalm), Garlic chives, Catnip, Lemon balm, Motherwort and Horse radish 🌞
$15 2 year old Goji Berries, Green grapes, Cascade berries and Black currents:)
$5 hardy Geraniums 🌱 we have these planted under our fruit tress and love them!
More will be coming soon 😁

Ok hive mind 🐝 🙏
I need help. My seeding greenhouse is under rodent attack… hundreds of dollars worth of seedlings are being dug up and eaten 😓😭😭
As a small business and mom of two this feels SO devastating, on so many levels!
I have a 14x30 wood frame, plastic greenhouse.
I start trapping in January well before I start to seed. I always catch mice and rats 🐀.
It’s not obvious where they are getting in..
I have LOTS of traps set, bright lights on, a strobe light and the radio playing. This isn’t enough.
I’ve resorted to covering each flat with another flat and that helps but every morning first thing and at night I cover and uncover the seedlings. It feels like so much extra work….as there is lots of babies to try keep safe. Last night they came back!! I lost 50 4 inch pots of peppers (all I had left as they ate my other 70 😭) and flats of brassicas!!
I feel so sad and defeated by this experience. I’m putting one foot in front the other, but I cant run a nursery business like this.
What do other growers do? 💚
Does anyone have any solutions? 💚 ideas ? 💚
I mean I guess getting cats 🐈‍⬛?

Deep Roots Farm is so pleased to open their little farm stand today till end of June.
Thank you Carolyn Herriot and Kim Lavender Kitchen for your endless support hanging with the kiddos and creating magic with me in the garden. With two youngsters this wouldnt be possible with out you two beauties 👩‍🌾 Thank you Andrew Gardiner for always rising to the occasion to help your wifie out. Your endless skill set never ceases to amaze me😘 I love you SO much!!

Bed prepping for a new purple Asparagus bed woop woop! We are 7 years no till:), thank you broad fork for aerating our soil, creating better depth and helping our soil structure. I love spring! Happy gardening y’all 💚💚

Hello fellow gardening enthusiasts 🌱🥒🍓😋
Thank you all SO much for the support in our lil farm stand. We are SO grateful and excited knowing all these food plants, flowers and herbs have made it out into the community.
Our stand will only be open until June. 11 th. 💕 So if you have any space in your garden still come stock up.
We are located in Yellow Point. 3920 Yellow Point Rd. The stand is located just off of Yellow Point Rd across from Barney Rd. Open 10am -7 pm. We will be open 7 days a week until June.11 th with TOMATOES 🍅 are in 4 inch pots, hardened off and are $5. We have : Black Cherry, Yellow Pear, Gardeners Delight, Purple Bumblebee, Pink Bumblebee, Black Krim and Amish Paste. 🍅 I put out there mother flats: Fall Lancia Leeks, Bandit winter leeks and Calibra storage Onions. There’s still time to get them in. Just need to be pricked out into the garden. There’s LOTS in a flat for $6. I don’t have time for potting them up, but they’re ready! We will have 6 packs for $5 of fully hardened off and ready to plant: Paris Island Romaine and Tamarindo lettuce. In 4 inch pots for $5: Genovese Basil, Eggplant, Cayenne Peppers, Jalapeños, Red Bulls Horn Sweet Peppers and Tree onions $6. In 2.5 inch pots for $4: Sunflowers:Autumn Beauty, Sungold.. Butternut Squash, Sugar Pie Pumpkin, Spaghetti Squash,Delicata Squash, and Red Spear Sprouting Broccoli. CUCUMBERS 🥒: Lemon Cucumbers, and Early Fortune Pickling. Strawberries bare root 10 for $10. We also have Josta Berries in 3 gallon pots for $15.Its pay at the stand honour system or E transfer.

The long weekend is here and so is all our heat lovers and some added cool weathers on our farm stand🌱🍅 🌶️🫑

We will be open 7 days a week until the plants have found homes:) TOMATOES 🍅 are in 4 inch pots, hardened off and are $5. We have : Black Cherry, Yellow Pear, Gardeners Delight, Purple Bumblebee, Pink Bumblebee, Black Krim, Red Zebra, and Amish Paste. 🍅 We will have 6 packs for $5 of fully hardened off and ready to plant: Maxibel Fillet bush beans, Paris Island Romaine, Tamarindo lettuce and Cascadia sugar snap peas. In 4 inch pots for $5: Jerusalem Artichokes, Genovese Basil, Eggplant, Cayenne Peppers, Jalapeños, Red Bulls Horn Sweet Peppers and Tree onions $6. In 2.5 inch pots for $4: Sugar Pie Pumpkin, Spaghetti Squash, Zucchini, Delicata Squash, and Red Spear Sprouting Broccoli. The heat wave is here and so are some of our heat lovers..We’ve re stocked our stand for Mother’s Day weekend 🥰🌱🍅

We will be open 7 days a week until the plants have found homes:) We will have 6 packs for $5 of fully hardened off and ready to plant: Chamomile, Cilantro, Dill, Calendula, Hollyhocks, Cosmos mix, Taj Mahal Marigolds - ( back by popular demand 🥰), chard, Tiara Cabbage, Red Russian Kale, and Calabrese Broccoli 🥦 . Tree onions $6. Strawberries bare root 10 for $10. We also have Josta Berries, and Black Currents in 3 gallon pots for $15. Its pay at the stand honour system or E transfer.
