Today we celebrate Nemo. he spent over 20 years being the Boss Cat. He taught so many dogs how to respect cats and set boundaries that all the dogs respected. he started by giving our foster failure Logan a bloody nose the first night we met and even this morning he stood at the top of the steps so the dogs had to wait to come inside.
All of our overnight guests got to meet Nemo.
He sure will be missed
Special thanks to VCA Canada Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital who fit us in and had the patience and compassion we needed. grateful.

Today we celebrate cooper. Copper does everything in high speed like a bull in a chinashop, when he came into a room everyone knew.
He loved toys. Every time he came for a sleepover the toy box was the first stop. he'd empty the entire toy box and then decide which one he wanted. He always wanted to play fetch, he'd toss that toy onto your lap until you relented and threw it for him.
Coopers favorite sleeping spot was on Lornes pillow curled around his head. and although Lorne didn't love it at first he grew to miss it as Coop couldn't do stairs in his older age. Cooper loved group hikes with his pals and loved camping every summer. Cooper loved life, every person he met and all his close doggy friends. He will be missed as he goes to meet he doggy friends at the rainbow Bridge. I know they'll all be there waiting for him ready to bounce and play and go for a great hike.

FOUND: Roaming Dog: Upper Sackville/ area of Weir Field - 2476 Sackville Dr./ Halifax County MALE German Shepherd, adult, black and tan coat, very dark face, wearing a tan collar, very friendly. Found roaming on Aug. 29/22. Please cross post and if you have any information contact Mallory

FOUND: Roaming Dog: Middle Sackville/ Sunset Ridge area/ Halifax County MALE: Labrador Retriever or mix, senior, black coat, greying around muzzle, wearing a light blue collar with shark motif pattern, has a municipal tag ('He does have an HRM tag but 311 is closed until the morning') Found roaming on Aug.7/22. Today we celebrate Gracie. Gracie loved mud, the blacker the mud the better. I'd get her cleaned in the lake and she'd find mud on the way back to the truck. over the years she taught many dogs that a good recall means we get to keep playing and running and she always came to get a snack. she loved snacks so much that she chewed through the pockets of a few jackets and sweaters because I left treats in the pockets. She stole frozen t-bone steaks and didnt even get a belly ache. she was so stealthy that she managed to stockpile candy canes behind a door and if I hadn't heard her crunching them she would have gotten away with it.
Gracie will live on in my heart and my memories. I still think Tina should write a book. life with Gracie. She has so many funny stories.
May she run free at the rainbow Bridge with all her friends. Pride, Blake, Logan, Dante, Dakota, and of course Hughie. ♥️ 💖

Hi everyone! I just wanted to make you aware that we have Pet Alert decals available at the fire hall. They are free and you can feel free to pop in any weekday between 7:30-5:00 to take one for your home. The decals were made here in Uniacke at PR Direct Signs.

***UPDATE OWNER WAS FOUND***

This guy was found near Beacon House, he is neutered yellow Labrador Retriever with a lime green and gray collar on. He has a large mass on his chest and was found with another dog (unsure of breed) but unfortunately they could not catch the second dog.

If you are missing your dog or know someone who is please call 902-865-8110 with your information. If we do not hear from anyone by 3:30 pm, we will call animal services at 311.
