Coming to your home to train your dog, then train you! Ryan-Ann obtained her obedience training certification at Canada West Canine Center in 2000. Since then she has accumulated 24 years of experience in dog training and behavior. She has worked as an obedience instructor, behavior modification consultant, Municipal Animal Control Officer and as a Peace Officer with the Alberta SPCA. In addition
to work experience, she has been living with and managing her own variety pack of dogs for just as many years and currently lives with two Dutch Shepherds, a pomeranian cross, a Yorkie Cross. Do the cats count? Her training experience comes from both basic behavior work as well as from competitve dog sport. She has competed in agility, flyball, and rally-obedience and scent detection. Specializing in scent detection, she is immersed in the activity as a successful competitor, trainer and SDDA judge. She shares her passion for scent detection through classes, workshops and private training options. "Scent detection benefits dogs in so many ways. It provides intense mental stimulation, gives the dogs a job, builds confidence, deepens the bond between dog and handler AND encourages handlers to become much better observers of their dog's behavior. I love watching the dogs learn to use their noses for a purpose and teaching handlers learn how to read their dogs." Now, she is moving back into basic behavior training by offering private, in-home training services locally.
