That is for sure one of the greatest accomplishments of my short breeding reptile life! Unfortunately last year, I lost the eggs during incubations but after some adjustment, thanks to stygianexotics I finally managed to hatch Saharan sand boa eggs. One of the only 2 species of boa that laid eggs! They hatch after 17 days of incubation! And as you can see! The eggs are weird! They are extremely thin and fragile! Also the babies are born without color! Looking almost like anery! But after each shed they will slowly gain color! Can’t wait to see them grow and as far as I know, I should be the first in Canada to successfully reproduce and hatch babies Saharan sand boa! :)
C’est probablement le plus grand exploit en tant que reproducteur de reptile! Malheureusement, l’année passé, il y a eu des problèmes durant l’incubation et j’avais perdu les oeufs, mais après quelque ajustement, j’ai finalement réussis à faire éclore des œufs de Saharan Sand Boa! L’une des deux seuls espèce de boa à pondre des œufs. Ils ont éclos après 17 jours d’incubation et comme vous pouvez le voir, les oeufs sont vraiment bizarres! Ils sont très minces et très fragiles! Aussi comme vous pouvez le constater, les bébés ont l’apparence d’un Anery, mais ils vont prendre de la couleur après chaque mue! J’ai déjà hâte de les voir grandir et sans parler du fait que je suis, à moins de preuve contraire, le premier à reproduire cette espèce en captivité :)
